Hi Paul, The white NO BS Wolf trap is my favorite in NW Montana, doesn't freeze in as easy. Yet I have caught and held 5-wolves in the NO BS Coyote Extreme also, never lost a wolf in the coyote extreme... Excellent video Paul ...
I normally get the black coating on mine. Had thought about going with no coating only because I've gone thru and replaced all my hardware on new traps because during the baking process I've found quite a few loose nuts due to the nylon being melted. They are a nice trap tho. Glad I went with them.
I love my NO BS Wolf traps, Have them white and black color, one thing about the powder coating it really helps with freeze down. Good video Paul thank you.
Note to Paul.....Harbor Freight has powder coating.(in white)...and you have an oven......and WD-40......and you can P/C whatever you can fit in your oven....Caution....P/C Bullets BEFORE loading shell.....LMAO !!
So question, are you worried that the wolves will mess with th jaws so much that they will undo those nuts and pop the jaws out? (not a wolf trapper at all, over in NH but we trap big coyotes that breed with the wolves and I LOVE the idea of just cutting that last lil bit of jaw off and replacing it with a lil nut n bolt, but not sure on them being able to take them off.... Great video!
Yep, every year its go through equipment. This trapping is is a 365 day endeavor, lol. I have a few traps with the jaws to tight as well. I like the jig you made to work them. Have a good day Paul
Does no bs offer them coated white now? I got some of the black ones a few years ago, and black isnt the best color selection in these parts (as im sure you're well aware)
@@montanawolftrapper8666 I was hoping they would at some point. I realize the ones in your thumbnail are painted, but it got my brain working and I figured you're probably more in the know lol
@@Northwoods208for what its worth, I "have" had ok results in adhesion w/spraying powder coating with certain enamels like Krylon plastic ready line of aerosols. If you were to do this, I'd do right away and let em sit in the sun and breeze til season. 🐺👃
@@NonTypicalRacing all next seasons gear has already been put into sealed totes, but I might try that on a few for the following season. The more and more people trap them around here, the more scent paranoid I've become, so I pressure wash the day I pull everything, hang in the shop for one night, then they hang on a tree branch 6 months and go straight into a tote with a gasketed lid
@@Northwoods208 oh I hear ya. 1 thing tho, they probably gonna have a different future as far as dyeing them...probably cant do it, idk though. Just wanted to point that out before ya commited to some dumb idea I said would work. I hunt whitetails, so I can really appreciate your scent concern. Take care n GOOD LUCK this season bud.
Great content always leaning. love the simple jig idea

Huh, never thought of that, I'll bet it does!
I had some Duke 850's that I had powder coated this summer , it was about $14 per trap.@@NonTypicalRacing
Nice job. That doesn't take long to do 👍
👍
Those are awesome traps! That was a great job on the upgrades! Thank you for sharing my friend!
Awesome great tutorial on the bs traps thanks for sharing Paul til next time stay safe brother 👍🤜🐺
Paul, a little bowstring wax on Bernie's setters will keep those springs and bar sliding easier and not hanging up.
Great tutorial and explanation of what to look for.. love stuff like this!

No not at all
Looks good. Our Fair is next week, until then, I can't even think about trapping. I have several that need work, but nothing major. It's coming fast!

All Nuts have threads, unless they are "left hand".......LMAO !!!
Oh Boy! Those are going to be fast! Impressive rework ! And how many more to go?
Paul a dip in full metal jacket will make your traps work smoother, and the antifreeze will not effect you traps.just a thought.....
I use nylon washers for my pan tension bolt. Haven't had the rust or corrosion issue
You just gave me a Hit myself in my head .. good way to keep the trap open ...Yep Why did I not think that way
How are you setting the pan to exactly 10lbs. I have not been able to find a pan setter for that amount of weight.
I bought a pan tension tester from Hal Sullivan. I put a heavier spring in it and recalibrated the tester.
Paul, how did you plumb your stove pipe thru your shop wall?
Why do you use white paint on your wolf's traps?
I just have a few like that.
It’s for snow setting.
