That looks like tedious work, but necessary work all the same. I've never worked with that chinking before.
    Best wishes my friend.

I always love watching concrete work! I do very little of it because I just don't have the Knowledge. But watching you makes me want to try it again!
Can't wait to have a beer with you dude!!

I use a mortar piping bag to install, seems to work pretty good. I’ll agree it’s all in mortar consistency.

Create job showing this task off paul.. I've built a whole lot of log buildings and i've done my share of chinking, but I use the cock to kind.. Great job. Teaching people some of the old ways of doing things you do that well.. Hope the summer scotch you in. Happy land and thanks for the videos this week

Yup he polymers “plasticize “ the mortar! That’s why it moves the way it does! 27 year concrete guy here. I use all the polymer materials all the time. Looking good tho bro!!

I grew up in a log home that was built in the early (19) teens. Got a bit of a preview of the process early. I've seen news paper, Deer Moss and Horse turd and mud used as chinking. It is all good, but requires regular maintenance. One Old Timer told me the best of the best was.........a sack of Portland, mixed with your desired color of oil base paint. Mix to the consistency of putty and use same as mortar. It never totally dries out, never changes much in color, remains elastic with hot and cold weather and never pulls seal. No more air leaks. .......
