- Remote start on 2006 Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo 3.7L bone stock using the factory key fob. Not sure if this was installed by previous owner or a hidden feature or a not so hidden feature I just didn't know about.
Start sequence: 3x lock, 2x unlock.

I have a factory remote start on my 2007 grand Ltd. it has over 250,000 miles so far, and I’m convinced that religiously remote starting and giving it a few minutes of warmup time is something that has helped this engine stay bulletProof.
Props to you bro. I got an 05 with 141 and I’ve had to replace like 4 coils, it’s a got a head gasket leaks, oil pan Cracked, and Manifold got a hole. I’m sick of this thing having problems

its a aftermarket remote start. the fortin evo-all bypass module will do this.

Actually grand cherokee is not equipped by factory with this implement, i think previous owner install the flashlogic remote starter.

I just figured this out: this is an aftermarket module that uses your factory remote.
Not factory, and you don't have to press unlock 2 times either only 3x lock. You can tell because the third lock flashes the lights twice instead of once.
Like I said on my 1st comment from 2 years ago, mine does exactly how he showed in the video everything. I have had it checked out by an audio tech company and they are unable to find any mechanism installed factory OR aftermarket.i have an 06 limited with the normal key fob and not the one that has the optional 4 button. I believe it's possible simply because my wife's 11 liberty has certain functions used in sequence on that key fob to reset features in the liberty.

If it's like my 08 liberty, it's an aftermarket plug and play T module installed just under steering column housing. I installed mine in less than 15 minutes without having any experience at all. I just have to press the lock button 3 times. It was a life saver for me this winter! Bought mine off of Ebay.

Not factory like mines,cause if it was,it would have a 4th space with a half circle arrow with 2X,for u to push that button twice to start and twice to stop.i love it,I've always wanted a vehicle with remote start but was very leary to get it aftermarket cause it can mess things up with your vehicle,so be careful with those aftermarket ones.

People don’t get that yes this is aftermarket, but it’s cool that he’s showing you this because maybe you bought a jeep from someone who has this type of starter in it and you never even knew about it.
I bought one today and just went out to try this.. sadly, it did not work. But still glad I saw this so I knew to try it.
Sweet mine has one too! Also the panic button doubles as passenger ejection seat launch, just press and hold panic button until seat launches from vehicle! (Sometimes it takes awhile)

I actually did a little research to have this installed in my 05 Jeep Grand Cherokee Limited and found that it is the Avital 4113 Remote Start system. You have the option of using the remote that comes with the system or your factory remote (as in video).
bsm00thaggie I used that remote start system with my 2001 Chevy Tahoe. I just have to hit the lock button twice.

We have a problem in our grand cherokee 2006 4x4, when we start the ligths, if we ligths on only the minimun ligths every things works ok, but when we swicth on the front lights, only starts the rigth one, if we start the hi-ligths only start one hi-ligths at left side, and one normal ligth(not a hi-ligth) at rigth side , meanwhile the wipers blades, the windows and the claxon doesn't work, and we hear a circuit noise inside of the place where is the multifunction swich. can you help?

Its a after market system. Maybe a dball or flashlogic piece. Parking lots were lazily connected. They don't have to power the hazzard lights,that's just annoying

I'm 6 years late, but no, it's not installed by previous owners either. Mine did exactly as the video showed, 3 lock, 2 unlock. Fired right up. 3 lock, and it shut off.
I had to try. Didnt work obviously because its stock but I'll look into the under the dash module! 😁

I found out my Pontiac G6 has remote start they gave me the wrong remote the had unlock trunk and lock button that was also beat up so I purchased another remote and it had a crank button on it and .....I’ll be gosh darn!!! No more running out side on cold days jus to crank up my car

oh this is an installed feature, if it was from the manufacturer there would have been another button with a round arrow and a x2 on it, in this case though, it is an installed feature by the other owner (very likely to be from avistart.)

Aftermarket. I had this type on my WK. When I sold it I never told the dealer. Well, small fucking world I came across that Jeep at Biloxi one day. Needless to say I still forgot to tell the new owner, maybe he will make a video one day of him realizing it has it too.
I have a 2008 jeep grand Cherokee equipped with a remote engine starter. when I start it, it wont stay started one minute then shuts off. Is there a way of reprogramming the time. in the manual it says its' suppose to stay started 15 minutes
Check for engine codes / disassemble the FOB(s). There are several reasons the engine stops after a few seconds on a remote start. The most common is a Check Engine code. The second most common is a loose disk in the FOB (that's the ignition key to normal folk) and it's rattling around shorting out things (causing random locks / unlocks / engine starts / stops / etc). The details are in the owner's manual (pgs 26 and 27 in the 2010 WK manual). Good luck.

I pressed lock 3 times on my 2000 limited.. didnt do shit.. but when i pressed unlock 3 times, it activated easy exit on the seat, the door opened so i got out. It then started and drove off. I knew "google car" addon was a bad idea!

It’s an oem Jeep remote with a factory add on starter. The signal is received from the original Jeep fob and the lock motor signal sends pulses to the activation input of the remote starter installer under dash. The module can be configured for 1 or 2 pulses but minimally set to 3 pulses usually. Otherwise every time you lock the car normally it would always start. And if it was set to 2 pulses it could also accidentally start if the fob was in a bag or pocket
Also. This unit probably doesn’t have a feature known as “disarm defeat” so basically you can sit in the car and press the lock button on your door 3x and it will also do the same thing. :)
