I realized that next month I will have half a day in Paris and remembered this video. So here I am reviewing it as to not forget anything on my little itinerary. Thanks Jay!
I loved every second of this!! No need to apologize. We get it! And I LOVED it. I want the quick hit how to get from point A to point B. It was sooo helpful to see you navigate the metro. I'm prepping for my first trip (solo) and was excited to see everything as if I were really hustling the streets with you! Loved every quick-paced moment. Thank you/merci!!
Be careful from January 2020 the 10pack of tickets is increasing in price, you can buy a card at any metro desk which cost less than 2€ and then buy tickets on it the same price than before
Aaliyah Houston thank you. Your dream will come true! It was my dream as well........expressionztravel on IG has two specials to Paris in Winter and Spring 2021. Check them....
We used this video as a blueprint for our 2 day visit in Paris. We got a Navigo pass for about 28 EUR which took us from the airport to the city and we took the metro and bus to go pretty much everywhere. It is a weekly pass. We also improvised and went to Versailles for a half day (included in the Navigo pass). Your Versailles video is spot on: it is a full day experience. We didn’t go in the Chateau, however, the lines were noticeably shorter by the time we left around 3 PM. Thank you for your videos!
Thank you Jay for this great video... This Canadian was able to complete this in about 4 hours using your exact route --- i extended mine a bit at the end as i had 6 hours in the city between flights....keep up the great work and huge thanks again for making my time in Paris easy and amazing!
I was there last year for 4 days, i did ok, the train system is easy to understand. I’ll be going back in December and following your directions as a blueprint, thanks Jay
This is fantastic! I lollygagged around Paris for 8 days in May and it was wonderful. Highly recommend. But next time in France I want to see another region and just take a day in Paris. Good to see how this can be done. Thanks Jay!
You are very informative , I visit these places in 2001 while a graduate student at UCL London UK and will travel with my wife as we leave Spain to arrive in France and then venture to Rome.
i'm halfway through, and I love this. What you said about people complaining that you're not stopping and enjoying but this is an efficient BLUEPRINT so you can enjoy even more if you have time. Very good. Thank you for this.
Thanks for sharing. This video is perfect for individual who probably goin to Paris for work meeting etc n only have less than 5 hourz to do some touristy thing b4 heading to the airport. Great stuff!
Even if this is a speed run its really very helpful for anyone who has never navigated the metro there because that's always a travel hurdle, so this video is great even just for the itinerary.

Thanks for this information, saved us a lot of time on our day trip to Paris. Appreciate the useful info and your delivery is engaging. Thanks Bro for your help :-)
I have no idea how I got here, but as a Parisian I can tell you that you can alternatively walk from Tour Eiffel to Notre Dame along the river and see the Louvre on the way. That's probably a 2h walk if you take your time and you'll see a lot of other stuff not listed here. These days it's a pedestrian park all the way along.
i'm going to paris this September for4 days . now you giving me hope i can see most of the city . love you video it give me the time and lines to go thru this beautiful city . gerat video
I just followed your video for a day trip to Paris and it was great! Even started getting the hang of the metro by the time it was all over. My only issue was finding the RER. to Notre Damn, but I didn’t really wanna go anyway. Thank you so much! This video saved my life!
OMG Jay, I’m watching this for the first time. What a fun video! The first time I went to Paris was in 2013. The bleachers in front of Notre Dame were kind of nice. My friend Kim and I sat on them for around 35 minutes.

We just came back from Paris 2 weeks ago and it’s like being there again although Eiffel Tour had an enclosure around it and queue was long so we skipped it. Good to know again the tips and tricks around Paris. Merci beaucoup Jay et bon courage.
The RER is a different system, but they intersect. So basically if you get on the Metro you can use the same ticket to take the RER, but only within the same zones. The Metro is only really zone 1, so don't leave that zone on the RER or you're liable to get fined. Conversely, if you get an RER ticket for any zones, the same ticket will be good on the Metro. Hope that helps!
great video. So once you exit metro and scan your ticket you cant reuse it? Is that why every time you enter metro you need a new ticket? I was under impression it'd give you like 2 hr cushion to reuse it. would daily pass be a better option? Thanks in advance!
Such great content in this early vlog Jay...... 👍 and watching it made me a little out of breath just keeping up with you too 🤣..... but hey as you have shown it can be done ✅ and no doubt there are plenty of visitors who are now singing your praises for having put together such a great “how to” vlog..... merci beaucoup!

I am going to Paris for one day. Would you suggest buying a daily RATP ticket? I have read somewhere that it is now valid on the RER train for CDG, could you confirm please? Can I buy it in CDG? Thank you in advance 👍🏻
Hey Jay I’ve done exactly the same today. I’ve followed your instructions 100%. Only I’ve spent maybe an hour in a Parisian cafe eating my lunch. I’ve started around 10 am from Gare du Nord. I reached back exactly at 3pm. I was a bit slow since I’m back in Paris after long 34 years. I came here with my family in early 1980s as a toddler.
So funny and amusing! My family can relate to this type of tourism when I drag them the same way when we don’t have much time I’m so glad you made this video :)
You are hilarious😅 yet extremely informative! A great quick listen for my Paris trip planning. Merci for all the work you put into your travel vlogs! Just saw the 25 tips one too and you're on point! ❤ 💯👍
This was the best video!! I have a day in Paris which i have to have a break in the middle of to go meet a friend at Orly airport and i was wondering how I ciould possibly fit it all in. Im so impressed with the directions on how to use the metro to get everywhere. I realize space was running out on your ph so my only disappountment was how fast the return journey instructions were. Im sure ill work it out! Thank you!! 💥💥💥💥💥
Impressive and effective video. I would never recommend doing this, though. You show that a tourist can see 6 attractions in 3 hours or less (well done) and also why they shouldn't. Forget a day trip to Paris. Spend a week there. Two weeks. Sip the sights instead of chugging them. My Eiffel Tower experience lasted more than three hours, including the summit, the two lower levels and the ground floor. I spent two half days in the Louvre. I spent an entire morning at Notre Dame. Awesome city, awesome video. Thanks.
That's similar in concept when our two VERY young children and wife and I visited France in mid-May 1999. We rented an apartment for seven days in the 11 arrondissement and literally were able to see EVERYTHING (with savoring time) and then toured for seven days the Loire River Valley seeing the world class chateaux and staying in b&b's. A wonderful contrast from urban Paris' Trip of a lifetime!
Simply your awesome Jay. Pat on your back or hand shake. We will be on your neck of the woods May of next year. Booked it last night. And your right we Americans will try to cramp up all the places you just showed plus more in a short amount of time. (At best 3-4 days). So based on your videos, I’m in the process in retracing your foot steps on the little map that I have here, courtesy of google map. May have go to Barnes and noble buy myself an enlarge print of the city. Man I just thought about that. Woohoo. But you sir have helped a lot of tourist ease up their anxieties through your videos. Thank you.
dude your videos nd comedic timing is AWESOME! headed to Paris tomorrow and this really helped. as an American do u know the best way to convert money or if I should just my visa instead? I have bOA
It depends on your transaction fees - if you have a visa card with no transaction fees then I would try to do that as much as possible and withdraw cash only in big chunks as few times as possible (but Bank of America has a partnership with BNP so you could withdraw from them for free if you have BoA)
Thanks! Great video and it worked I covered all of the stops in 3 hours flat. I did not count extra 30 thirty minutes it took to find the right line and direction, since I did not start at the same place of origin. But it worked out. Next trip here I will try some of your videos and tell friends and family who has stopover or planning a trip to Paris check out this video.
You walk sooooo fast. Great job. You did it in about 2 hrs but I can't walk that fast so, it would be around 4-5 hrs for me. Thanks for sharing this nice video. I appreciate it.
Unless you make around 20 trips on the Metro/Bus system in Paris, Hop on Hop Off won't likely be any cheaper. And you're limited to the route they choose - but if you just want to see the sites and keep from stressing about thinking through the transportation system, then it could be nicer.
Actually... This is a GREAT video! Not so much for the speed but more as a way to coordinate google maps with the location of our Hotel. We want to see all the places you show us and now I understand where the places are AND!!! which Metro's to use to get there. THANK YOU for your help!!!
Hi Jay, it was tremendously helpful and I had a blast. I experienced some confusion in finding the 2 line for the first stop from Gare du Nord but I improvised and then also when transferring to the RER as the signs were not as obvious as in Paris Metro. Loved Notre Dame the most and the St Michel area. I tried to find the crepe place you went to but dont think i did. As we say in Hawai'i, mahalo nui loa (thank you very much)!!
This was really excellent! I pour over the Metro map, and the stops never align with the sights. I'll be spending 3 days there, which will be my shortest time, I've ever visited. Warriors whoever can do that in a layover.
How can i hire you as a guide when I’m there May 6th?
Unfortunately I'm not available *as* a guide, but I did *write* a substantial one that you can download and carry with you in your pocket when you come! 🥳

A wonderful contrast from urban Paris'
Trip of a lifetime!
Hello Jay Swanson .. this video is great i followed exactly the same and covered all places in 5 hrs. thanks buddy :)
Great 👍
Great video! You were hilarious & very informative!! Thank you! I’ll be visiting Paris fall 2020 can’t wait!
You're welcome!
Thank you.
"I ordered sun but they didn't come through for me" lmao
☀ 😔
dude your videos nd comedic timing is AWESOME! headed to Paris tomorrow and this really helped. as an American do u know the best way to convert money or if I should just my visa instead? I have bOA
It depends on your transaction fees - if you have a visa card with no transaction fees then I would try to do that as much as possible and withdraw cash only in big chunks as few times as possible (but Bank of America has a partnership with BNP so you could withdraw from them for free if you have BoA)
Bless you! This is EXACTLY what I needed! You are a GEM!
We’re all under quarantine right now so I’m getting a virtual visit to my favourite city on earth.
You walk sooooo fast. Great job. You did it in about 2 hrs but I can't walk that fast so, it would be around 4-5 hrs for me. Thanks for sharing this nice video. I appreciate it.
Happy to help! At least it should lay out a solid path for you to follow when you do it =D
I will be using this in August. Thanks!
Sweet!
Whew!!! Thanks for the tour!!! I will be attempting this in a few months only going backwards!!!
would you recommend using the hop on hop off bus for more convenience and practicality as well as for less amount of money instead?
Unless you make around 20 trips on the Metro/Bus system in Paris, Hop on Hop Off won't likely be any cheaper. And you're limited to the route they choose - but if you just want to see the sites and keep from stressing about thinking through the transportation system, then it could be nicer.
Actually... This is a GREAT video! Not so much for the speed but more as a way to coordinate google maps with the location of our Hotel. We want to see all the places you show us and now I understand where the places are AND!!! which Metro's to use to get there. THANK YOU for your help!!!
Happy to hand off the route =D
Very helpful video. Thanks you sooooo much!
My pleasure!
Good explanation lot of efforts
Hi Jay, it was tremendously helpful and I had a blast. I experienced some confusion in finding the 2 line for the first stop from Gare du Nord but I improvised and then also when transferring to the RER as the signs were not as obvious as in Paris Metro. Loved Notre Dame the most and the St Michel area. I tried to find the crepe place you went to but dont think i did.
As we say in Hawai'i, mahalo nui loa (thank you very much)!!
Awesome video my man! This is the kind of qik de tour I like when I want to see as much as possible in the shortest amount of time. Great video.
Thanks =D I hope it helped!
Wow your videos are so informational thanks so much i'm def planning a trip now!!
Thank you for making this video. You are a blessing. 🙏🏽❤️🎉
my wife and I are in Paris now and did that but we did it in 2 days thanks for the video!

Im going in 3 weeks! This is great info
Good! I'm glad it helps =D
You’re an angel for these videos. Keep up the awesome work :)
Thanks!
You saved me with this video! Really helped me for my Layover. Thanks Buddy!
Yeah man! Glad it helped!
This was really excellent! I pour over the Metro map, and the stops never align with the sights. I'll be spending 3 days there, which will be my shortest time, I've ever visited. Warriors whoever can do that in a layover.
Thank you!😃👍
Heading out on layover day after tomorrow - thank you so much for this!
Glad it was of help!
WOW...that was my first in Paris.... And I was there during a metro strike..
