Dump the ZD before it dumps itself with 35 psi! Replace with 1HDTFE with twin turbo's, 6 speed ZF box into Patrol transfer. Remember, it's a 4x4 not a freckin race car!
Godzilla big block supercharged or turbo would be a sick fit I been thinking of that or a vk56vd supercharged or turbo in my gu Ute. It’s hard but because money and the build time always costly so personal preference etc. Best thing is tidy it up and wheel it arp head studs a must

Does a good job at explaining why you wouldn't want to do LS3s anymore and why LTs. Video :LT1 vs everything else.

Rather than a 4jj put a 4hk1 or 6hk1 in it. The truck engines are even more reliable. 4hk1 twin turbo would be unique. I regularly service a few trucks with these engine with over 1.5 million KLMs on the clock and no engine work done with those Ks.

Honestly mate, if you want something unique try and squeeze a two stroke Detroit in the thing. That would be one hell of a build.
Drop an Ls3 into it and be done, good power, heaps of limi smashes and it’ll keep on going + parts are relatively cheap compared to other conversions

Ls just don't have the economy to be a decent touring motor. Maybe a bara but ls needs massive fuel tanks and even then you won't get far
