Brand new dialysis nurse here. I came from psych and so far I hate dialysis. I want to quit, but I can’t. It could be the training. Hopefully it gets better. I appreciate all of your videos. Thank you so much for them!
Well the difficulty on this is from the range of education on both sides. It's always hard to tell what level of patient or nurse you are dealing with. On one hand you have patients like myself that have been on for 16+ years and then you have a patient who's just shutting down and doesn't want to know anything. On the other side the nurse is just sorta stuck in the middle. As far as I understand nurses shouldn't actually be making any dietary recommendations and should be referring to the dietician... Who may or may not be worth anything. I think the biggest tip I would say to any of my interdisciplinary care team is that it's ok to say "I don't know" or "I'll get back to you on that" and "I'm not qualified to answer that question, but so and so is". Techs should be directing questions to more qualified people, but again the problem is the more qualified people are not always there.

I know this is superficial, but that sweater looks great on you. Cream is a good color for you!
Thanks so much!
