    I love the clarity and speed at which you present your videos. (For those who are having trouble keeping up with his videos remember you can always pause and back it up if there is an area you are having trouble with.) You asked for video recommendations, I recently did a search for this "webcore how to use trace" my results were none. I would like more detailed data on what is in the trace bar and what it is trying to tell me about my piston. I have some very detailed pistons that when I run Trace it has several entries in that bar telling me about the MiliSeconds which show up in different colors.

      A great request! I do want to start making videos for this series going into depth on the features and how things work. I will add it to the list. Thank you for the suggestion!

    Thanks for the help with WebCore. I am really struggling with IFTTT integration of WebCore, in particular the creating and copy and paste of the URL requirements for both sending and receiving a command to and from IFTTT. IF you could keep it slow and simple for newbies like me it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks for the videos, they are great!

      That's a great idea! I'll add it to the list of videos for this series. Thanks for the feedback :)

    sorry can't find a clear answer... do you know if webcore works with Smartthing new app? I see post that it cant, but this was published in 2019 and doesn't mentioned anything

      Yes it does I actually covered it in a video I did going over new features in the new smart app which can be found here: ua-cam.com/video/1xXHAYvSFGI/v-deo.html

    Thanks for good videoinstructions... I have a request! - My garage door opener needs a contact switch that turns on and off in a second! - How can it be possible?

    Thanks for this great tutorial series. This is exactly what i need with Stringify going away soon. I would appreciate a tutorial that puts a timer component into a piston. I have an outdoor light that I would like to have come on from the hours of dusk to 11PM and then after that to come on from 11PM to dawn based on my driveway sensor. During this 11PM to dawn time period, I would like it to only come on for 15 minutes and then go back out. Thanks so much for the consideration!!!!

      I just want to make sure I understand your request correctly.
      You are looking for:
      Your light to turn on at dusk (sometime after sunset) and stay on until 11PM.
      From 11PM to dawn (sometime before sunrise), a motion sensor would trigger the light to turn on for 15 minutes and then turn off.
      Would the motion sensor trigger during the 15 minute period refresh the timer or would you just have the 15 minutes count down? I would personally want it to restart the timer. I'll cover both options in the video.
      Am I missing anything?
      I do have a few videos in the pipeline I need to get out first but I will definitely include this example in one of my more "advanced" videos I have planned for the series. Thank you for the suggestion!

    • @Farmercist1
      @Farmercist1 5 років тому +1

      Yes everything you said!! Ideally I would want the 15 minute time period to restart if there was a new trigger. Can't wait thanks

      Hey sorry for such a delay but I finally was able to post a video on setting up your request. Check it out and let me know what you think! ua-cam.com/video/UAUGlDVjT1Q/v-deo.html

    Nice intro. Boy, you really whizzed through those menus! A bit fast for a noob like me lol. Just giving input. I'm moving onto next. Thanks for these! :) Subbed and liked.

    • @BeardedTechGuy
      @BeardedTechGuy  5 років тому +2

      Thanks for sharing! I'm really glad you enjoyed the intro. I've been struggling with keeping my videos a decent length and maybe went a little too short this time. Would timestamps in the comments for the pistons be helpful so you can click and pause easily?

    • @Mr_Gadge
      @Mr_Gadge 5 років тому +2

      @@BeardedTechGuy Thanks, I think just the speed of going through, and why you're clicking which one you're clicking would help. . I'm sure as a noob YOU didn't go through it that quick lol.
      Timestamps help for more advanced features I think. Like diving into a manual. Noobs like me just want slower explanations, rather than BAM BAM BAM screenshots. It's so fast I can't really read all the options, and why you've clicked a particular one. a 3-5 second mouse hover over that option and why we want it would stop a lot of questions why.
      I'm always disappointed with short videos so I wouldn't aim for that.. I've watched hours of arduino with real in-depth info.

    • @BeardedTechGuy
      @BeardedTechGuy  5 років тому +2

      I'll keep that in mind! Most of the feedback has been that my videos are a little drawn out including the watch time stats. But this series might be a bit different. Thanks for the feedback and sub! :)

    I have webcore installed and would like to use a smartplug with an external siren on my samsung adt smartthings hub. Do you have a video to do this?

    • @BeardedTechGuy
      @BeardedTechGuy  4 роки тому +1

      Not directly, but I do have two questions.
      Does the siren trigger when power is applied?
      What are you looking to have trigger the siren?

    • @clydehill5289
      @clydehill5289 4 роки тому

      @@BeardedTechGuy yes. It would trigger when power is applied to the smart plug sensor by a command from ifttt?
