- A great question from Cars & Coffee with Kenny! What are your thoughts on Torsen differentials? The obvious answer is yes, it's a must have component for open-track and has long been the go to differential for Mustang owners.
Kenny provides a quick look at why the Torsen differential is a great solution to maximizing performance in your Mustang. A torque-biasing differential will help provide the best output to both rear wheels.
This is great!
Thank you!
thank you so much! i was wounder what is the most precise between torsen or clutch. also i hoped it's the torsen because no clutch means no degradation & maintenance
I desperately need something for my 1992 Buick Roadmaster Estate Wagon. 125K miles and even though it might still have a limited slip on it now, by now the clutches have probably turned it into an open differential. Will a Torsen work for this car - especially with ice here in Iowa? Thank you, Kenny.
My 2015GT torsen developed a vibration. Took years to diagnose
So i can beat the hell out of it😂😂on my daily 😊

I’m trying to find the science why mustangs lose control
Atleast for the s550’s : Traction & stability control, els, mechanical grip, drivers who shouldn’t have 380whp stock. Mainly the els is to blame the car stock won’t self steer and requires you to feed into the steering while the rear end is slipping. NOT the typical turn left to go right. These things can all be “rectified” by cortex controllers that disable traction & stability control and change the characteristics of the electronic steering.
In short if people would just unplug a connector located near the air box and understand the steering input difference it wouldn’t happen… as much.
Idiots stomping on the gas leaving "Cars'n'Coffee" is a lot different to high speed corner exit on the track.
Every time you double the speed, you need 4 x the power.
All these devices [Torsens, LSD's, Spools etc] are designed for the purpose of gaining traction, not for losing traction [at the hands of some egomaniac]
