"Don't judge each day by the harvest you reap, but by the seeds you plant" -Robert Louis Stevenson
Thank goodness you have the ethonal plant to deliver to. One thing I’ve noticed is you have a great family to go home to. That’s the best especially when things aren’t going good. That’s the best when things are going south.
Live in NYC, having corn for dinner tonight, I will certainly have new appreciation of what a farmer has gone through to harvest it. Hope the weather gets better for you.
Thanks
A145084 DAVE our corn is not sweet corn (which is likely what you're eating), but it's very possible there is corn in the ingredients somewhere in your meal. Thank you for watching! I love hearing from non-farmers!
We had the same here today. Couldn't combine so I ripped a few corn stalks then we hauled dry corn to town until 4 & then we started combining only to get snowed out at 7:30 again. It snowed so hard I could hardly see driving the truck home. I'm ready for this harvest to be done with. Hope it's not like 2009 when we didn't finish corn until December 7th. Sound like some more snow & rain this weekend. Thanks for the videos.
MN Millennial Farmer... feel sorry for you and the harvest conditions. I remember finishing in the frozen Texas ground Feb 1972. doesn't happen often here . I counted the acres we like: 60 of grain sorghum, 650 corn, and 40 of cotton. Our forecast for 30 day is dry so we should be in good shape. We run a 9770sts with 12 row heads.
Well, Minnesota's winter is just about on time this year.⛷️
Just wanted to congratulate you Sir. For doing a fantastic work on your projects and having the big toys all of us grown man just dream of having one day. Keep up the good work and videos 👍🏻
i can tell you this we havent even started harvesting yet and not for a while so it is gonna be very VERY interesting when we start harvesting!!
You're getting conditions like we had last year up here in Saskatchewan. Last year we got snow on October 1 so that held us to only 3 days where we combined in october. Good luck with the rest of harvest.
Got to love Minnesota weather that’s farming for ya
I saw you on the news. Great job.
The older generations love Buicks. My parents have had Buicks for like 20 years now. Lol
With all that going on I’d think it would be nice having a little crappy weather once in a while to catch up on odd jobs. Around here there’s never a shortage of odd jobs.
Bored Injc sometimes that's exactly right. Unfortunately we have just had too much of it lately
MN Millennial Farmer yeah I hear that. It’s been misting drizzling rain here today combined with green stem bean doesn’t make for ideal harvesting weather.
Thanks for the video. Hoping for dry weather soon!
Never a dull moment around there.
Tim O #farmlife
Hope we can see the bags. Keep up the Work.
ANonPaidAttorneySpokesperson you'll see them for sure!
Amen on the Buick comment! Hey buddy, be careful and plod along and it'll all get done. Just be able to get home to family which is the most important thing anyway. Thanks for postin'!!
57fitter thanks for continuing to watch bud!
It has snowed here also and two inches of rain a few days ago. It will be a late before we get done also. Good weather is coming lol or at least we hope so.
Mud is always a challenge we run a 9650w with duals and an 8 row head it does very well compared to our 7720 with singles and a 6 row head. We farm in upstate NY. Love your videos
Sweet I'll have to turn the news on Thursday, looking forward to the bag video
"It's ALWAYS a Buick!" Lol grandmas. haha
We almost got done with beans last night, my dad ran a 9895 Massey combine and my grandpa runs a 1460 international while our hired men ran 2 semi and I ran the grain cart with a new Holland bidirectional tractor with a 590 kill bros grain cart, at 2:30 it started to frost even with the draper heads we could not keep cutting, we got almost 350 acres done yesterday but now its going to rain all week and we have 150 acres left, really frustrating.
I-LEGEND that's frustrating man I know the feeling!
you know what I noticed with mini vans there either going way to slow our way ton fast either one it pisse sme off either way hahaha
you got plenty going on and it sure looks as if you are getting things done and knocked off the list. I enjoyed the ride in your large truck.
suggestion for vids - Walk through the process of inspecting and daily prep/repair of headers during harvest.
Life on the frozen tundra continues, Looks like your Yields are north of 200
Banjo Benson we are seeing big yields in sreas, but no fields are hitting a 200 average. So far they're all 175-190.
I see you out there trailer truck in man and holding it down Keep On Keepin On my good brother it's 72 degrees here 8:25 p.m. crazy man and you got snow all the way up there I seen it coming soon I live down here in South Carolina so the weather is usually warm
Always enjoy your content. You got quite the operation there.
Nothing changes... Different years with various weather conditions. Regards...
Wow we still get to combine for know it’s snowing next week
It's always a struggle your best defense is preparing and planning
I will have to agree this year is tough. Cant till much because of mud and standing water. Two years in a row and low prices. Its a labor of love or we are all crazy!
A good investment would be a cone bottom wet bin. So much easier. We have cone and a flat wet, but we try not to use the flat wet bin.
The cone gravity feeds into the drag that goes directly to the dryer
I'm still learning. You crop corn and Soybean. Soybeans seem to pay more per bushel. Not sure, seem on 2500 acres plant both 50/50 is a safe bet if the weather plays a bad deal to you. Not sure here.
Why out combine you don't make feed Silage? Not that this spread is not good to put back into topsoil for next year? Learning still.
FIRST!!! Wow snow already this year is flying by
jeremy the cool it's a little early for us. Hopefully it quits.
MN Millennial Farmer why are you doing this tax payers money are watch it this shhit
MN Millennial Farmer you need to get a quad track or the John deer copy. They have teeth on the track so they don't slip
Wild Child maybe someday! For now, the payments are easier to swallow with the RT machines.
There was a lot of mud in those tracks
That’s what we had to deal with up in Alberta last year we finished around November 15 ish and snowed them melted them snowed again so on ya it sucked
Another prime classic very professional video.
skydom1000 haha, I don't know about professional. The old Samsung phone does ok though!
Great video keep pushing thanks have a good night be safe.
2fast65 thank you
I'll watch the news tomorrow too
Noel Hohberger I just realized we world series is on fox tomorrow so I'm not 100% sure but I was told tomorrow at 9...
Hey man great video as always we farm a small 400 acre operation in Ontario interesting to see how the big guys operate also will try to find the Fox news station tomorrow
:O OMG I thought taht silo was up in flames brooo cause all the smoke looked like fire smoke
Have you ever had a track pop off? I have a cat skid steer with tracks and had one pop off. Not fun to put back on!
I was able to see you on the news. What did you think about the report on Roundup?
Like your videos your have a very well oil operation
What about the guy in the Buick?,I bet he is saying..."Its always a Kenworth".HAHAHA!!.
I have a friend in Iowa. Their ethanol plant docks anything over 12.5%. I guess the plant has to ship in most of their corn in because of this.
133dave133 holy cow, I wonder why they would do that??
I have no clue? Someone must be spending a lot of money drying the corn down that far, and still making a profit? What percentage does your plant start docking at?
Hey-Morris/Stevens County was a good place to grow up:)
I just saw your interview on fox 9 on roundup
Awesome Farmer nice!
Saw yah on TV...
Wish it was snowing here
That was like us last year... but we got a heat wave for one day on nov 8....was 70 degrees and we got it off dry
Really interesting video. Thanks for posting.
Sometimes I’m glade we farm sand but in the summer time when we are running pivots no stop trying to keep the corn from burning up I sometimes I wish my we would farm better dirt haha na I’m just glad I grew up on a farm and get the joys of it everyday
Josh Fanter we all have good and bad in our areas
Love your videos
we have 2 mt800c, 1 mt800e, 1 mt700c and 2 claas lexion 760s
Farm tractor tour
It's good you like GM TRUCKS.
hope it drys up soon thanks for the video
Another day on the farm.
I’ll be watching for sure.
AWESOME UPDATE THANK U
It's always a Buick oh my goodness that's a good one
Do you think a wheel tractor would give you what you need to get done as far as traction. And I guess the purpose of the track tractor is for compaction.
Post a link to the news story. Always enjoy your vids. LOL on the "it's always a Buick" comment.
Nice tractor you got there
Blue hairs like their Buicks! Funny
Hahaha it is always a Buick
case stx is worse. that stalk/mud freezes between the tracks & fenders then the stalks catch fire. have to clean it off every 12 hours
Great vid guys Smile More God Bless Stay Safe Guys 👍
We’ve been trying to get cotton harvest started but the wind has been against us all week.
Chase Howard boooo!
Wheels it is.
At 2:20 " it's always a Buick..."
Always a Buick. Obviously the Prius hasn't infested your area yet.
Mad Max nope, we don't see too many of those
Yeah hockey!
Only tractor you should have with tracks is a quad track
Yep a green one
You traded in a dual wheeled row crop and a 8 wheeler for two track units. What is the reasoning behind this ? It seems that with the muddy conditions the 8 wheeler may have been a better choice for the ripper. I have an older 8 wheeler for tillage and a track unit for planting . You have great vids and lots of useful info, Stay Safe
It’s always a Buick is right 😂😂😂
How come you don’t use the leaf blower to clean out the grain dryer?
It’s always a Buick
Free lunch. Are you making all 3 runs?
Love your ¢ent$ of humor
Thanx from the left coast near the Krapitol(center of global warming & methane production) of California
The world series is on Fox 9 so it will be later is my guess.
keith sorensen that's odd. I didn't think of that. The reporter told me thursday night at 9, but I guarantee I'm not playing baseball tomorrow.
World Series will be over tonight. Game 7
Right on!
smart farmer ,,,gm trucks ,,,
why no belt guards ?very dangerous ! belts slip in rain & snow here in Michigan
Tim Irish they slip here too, so we try to keep them moving! Half of the guards broke off because of the cheap mounting design so we don't bother using them. It's much easier to change belts this way too.
thanks for come back just be carefully around those running belts we run 4000 acres here in Michigan have 2 corn dryers harvest is going slow here two
Yup was you on fox9 talking Bout round up
Never ran tracks before. But assumed they were better in mud. Maybe that's not so ? Guess they do less compacting of the soil? Is there ever a time when the ground freezes for months at a time where you are?
Tracks are great in mud...until the mud starts building up in the rollers and on the frame. Then it has to be dug out by hand or it will freeze as stated.
mrih1586 Paulson is correct. And yes, the ground is always frozen here from about Thanksgiving until April.
Thanks for taking the time to reply and inform. Is this also true for large Dozers D-8's and such? Just curious. I'm from the south. Have a feeling this is not a problem for steel tracked machines. But can only guess.
mrih1586 this is a JD 2-track design problem. They rely on weight to drive the tracks. Most other tracked machines have some form of inner lug that drives them on the inside.
I thought that might be the case. Thanks again for the education. Great channel. You should do well.
Great video, just come across you!
ajadrew thank you!
Oh, hey Zach- fill in your idle times with that tree removal job. The Captain needs that and PRONTO!!
You have a very nice grain setup. How many bushels can you store on the farm?
Your vids are awesome
charlie brown. looks like not a lot of fun. great video if the tracks are caking up it seem like a lot of fuel to work the ground.
Show us in your skid steer
Bags aren’t too bad. Time for another bin?
PA Farms haven't even finished the last one yet!
Is it the 10 o'clock news?
Anderson Farms they said 9:00 bit game 7 of the WS is tonight so I'm not sure how that works? It's a story about glyphosate.
We bag a lot of corn but we deed it to the cows. Are you going to put it in ground and what will u use the corn for.
Debi Kramer we will sell it to an ethanol plant most likely
so ???? tracked still better choice over tires?
Wow your channel grew fast
iowadairyboys it took off fast about a month ago. I'm not sure why, but I'm going with it!
Yeah you were at around 7k not to long ago.
........All in a days work.
harvesting in snow :o
is that normal practice or weather going crazy nowdays?
Where you hauling grain to the ethanol plant that's by long prairie?
Ritter ranch ritter no, Morris
