Running Britain - Day 8 - Workington to Whitehaven on the England Coast Path

Workington to Whitehaven

Drove to Whitehaven and took the train to Workington and ran back to Whitehaven. Hit a section of the England Coast Path which was closed and I had to take a detour which added considerable time and mileage onto the day!

I recognise a lot of that route Claire, when i walked that route i recognised the upper path where you were lost but not the one you took first, the sign where you saw falling rocks they get a lot of landslips off that cliff face on to the railway line when the weather is really wet you will have noticed the train going slowly along that section.

I live near the path is re-routed it never got fully finished on the route you took where the turbines were should have stayed on the muddy road at the top there is a sign explaining at the Lowca side to not go that way (edit I see you found the sign 😀)
