Hi Sumo. Yes you right if you need a faster more economic productive method. These machines can still hold their own in certain situations and they are relatively simple to use for basic machining, even I can use one lol. Thanks for your comment.
Hi Tony, nice to see you back in the workshop, and some great camera work. Unadulterated machine porn! Can't beat it. I really need to get one. Cheers, Jon
Hi David thanks for viewing, the footage is when I was just starting at filming for UA-cam that's why there's quite a bit of free hand but the editing is up to date lol. Tony
That will be a very handy tool holder. Have yet to find/make/try using a tool bit holder, so far just been putting the HSS tools right into the lantern holder on the clapper.
Hi Everett. I bought a few of these large lathe tool holders at various car boot sales for a few pounds with the intention of using them on the shaper because of the long and substantial shank size. With the long shank you can reach over obstacles to machine in recesses without or with very slight flex on the tool holder shaft itself when cutting. Thanks for viewing and commenting Tony
Hi, I just bought such a machine :) Almost a week has been standing still not unloaded from the car :( Regards from Poland , Paweł. P.S. What I could, I left on your interesting channel;)
Hi Pawel i syn thanks for viewing, great to hear you've bought a shaper. Just noticed you've uploaded a video showing it. I'll be following your progress. Tony

EYUP TONY I taught at a school in Redbridge London and we had a Viceroy I think about 10" made by Denford machine tools in I think Brighouse west York's. That machine was a virgin when I went to the school. It was in a new workshop that was about two years old. There was also a Tom Senior horizontal mill that was a virgin as well lol I was there 10 years and was the only person to use both of them. IBet they got rid of them ten years ago. Whoever got those machines was a lucky bugger, 'coz I bet i was the last one to use them!
Hi Tony, thanks for the video. I’ve just picked up a Invicta 4M. It’s missing the table advance mechanism and clapper box as it was frankenstien-ed into a weird surface grinder arrangement. As a surface grinder it’s terrible, so I’m converting it back and giving it a new lease on life. Any chance along the way you could take a few specific videos of the clapper box and table feed mechanism? That would be hugely appreciated. I’ll need to manufacture some new ones as I’m sure finding spares is going to be difficult.
Hi Stuffbenmakes. Just noticed i'd missed your comment, thanks for viewing. Yes I can take some videos of the clapper box and feed mechanism, is your machine the same model but badged Invicta? Is it the same size 14 inch stroke? Do you need any size references to cross check against? Tony
Ours is just as bad at present lol I ordered a drill sharpening jig two weeks ago on a Royal Mail 48 hour tracked delivery and it still has not arrived!
Nice job! Has anyone ever asked you if you were Turkish? Or should I ask, how many times have you been asked if you are Turkish? Eyup is the Turkish variant spelling of the name Job.
Hi Isa. No nobody has asked but I have seen other people on the net using the same word. I was quite surprised to see it was actually a word in a foreign language. You've just saved me a job looking up which one. Thanks
EYUP TONY you are welcome 👍 If you do not mind me getting nosier though... why use “Eyup Tony” as your channel name? Any significance? Your earlier response made it sound like you made the word Eyup up?
@@IsaKocoglu Eyup is Yorkshire slang for hello or hi there a greeting etc. I'm based in Yorkshire, it's my accent the way I speak. I could use a lot broader Yorkshire slang words in my videos but you wouldn't understand me. Some people spell it aye up but aye is pronounced I like aye aye captain. So I spelt it as I say it, hope this helps.
That finish looked very good Tony. Nice job.
Yes it was a nice piece of steel to machine. Thanks. Tony
Great job Tony, nothing better then watching a shaper
Glad you liked it Matty. Thanks
G’day Tony, mate what a machine & old school metal removal. Then we moved up to an end mill & EDM but the old tools were king 🍻🍻👍👍👍👍

Cheers Jon. Not back in the workshop just yet this is old footage newly edited. I agree you've loads of empty workshop space to fill.
Great camera work and machine work 🙂 Tony 👍

Watching a shaper ripping metal is very soothing ....
Thanks Richard glad you liked it. I might do the longer uncut version at some point.

Nice one Tony . Cheers .
Hi Max, just found your comment lol. Thanks for watching.
Hi Tony,
Everyone loves some shaper footage... I liked how you showed it missing every other tooth on the roughing cuts...
Take care
Paul,,
Thanks Paul, it gives another insight of how the table feed is transmitted.
Thanks for some shaper action.
Thanks for viewing and commenting. Tony
What a beautiful sounding and functioning machine! Thank you for sharing this.
Thanks for viewing Eddie glad you liked it. Tony
Nice one. I remember spending weeks on a shaper during my apprenticeship.
Them were the days apprenticeships were really hands on. Thanks Garry
Nicely filmed and edited. Enjoyed. Cheers,
Thanks for your feedback Paul the actual footage was filmed about eighteen months ago, just got round to editing it lol.

That’s one very cool machine, Great video 👍
Thanks for viewing and commenting, glad you like the shaper.
Great video thanks for posting
Thank you for viewing, much appreciated. Tony
Wish I had the room for one of those👍🙂
Hi Chris thanks for viewing, you'd have loads or room and cash for one if you weighed in all your vintage aluminium retro electric hand drills lol.
EYUP TONY you’ve got me there ! 😅 , that shaper is in nice condition did you restore it ?

Hi Tony That Armstrong Style tool holder is a whopper or was a whopper, very versatile tool to have, guessing that size takes 3/8 hss. Regards Del.
Hi Del. I haven't got it to hand to measure it but no one wanted it at the car boot because of it's size but I could see it's potential. Thanks Tony
Need to restamp it now! J & S & T
Hi Sean lol. I wish I could have kept the name but there got to be loads of these old tool holders on second hand tool dealers shelves.
eyup tony, cool video mate
Thanks Jimmy glad you enjoyed it. Tony
Hi Tony. Nice shaper action. Did my channel sticker arrive?. I haven't received yours yet. The postal system here is terrible at present.
Hi Kevin your sticker arrived safely along with some others. Thanks for viewing.

EYUP TONY I surmised as much... thinking it is something akin to “what’s up”. Thank you for the confirmation Tony 😁👍
