I like how silent the film goes when she says “welcome to being dead” and “see this watch is your life, and it stopped.” The silence in the film makes you realize that she’s serious and it’s real. It shows how dark Don Bluth films really are without it explicitly looking dark.
This whole scene hits different as an adult. Needing excitement and adventure vs contentment and peace (also idk if you can bone in heaven but Annabelle seemed down to clown)
Unless she was either joking, or knew what the ultimate result would be. A temporary sentence served in hell followed by ultimate salvation when it is up. There may have never been others to go through it, there may have been many. The movie's final scene seems to hint at the latter. If that is so, she knows they will either stay for good, or ultimately come back after going below.
This movie and The Little Mermaid were both released simultaneously in theaters three days before I was even born. This November 17th, the film’s will be 33, and November 20th will be my 33rd birthday 🥳.
I used to actually ship Charlie x Annabelle but when Sasha was introduced in the sequel I knew she was the one he was meant to be with. Annabelle has always been a kind hearted and teaching superior.
When I was a kid, I didn't understand what really happened there. At first I thought Charlie just fell into the water and those circular structures around him are air bubbles and for some reason a tunnel or portal to Dog Heaven was opened under the water so Charlie could go there without separating his soul from his body.
As a kid it was cute but as an adult it makes me so emotional like grief. It makes me think of my first dog Sasha that passed away a long time ago g time ago. And now my dog Bella passed away over a month ago. I just imagine how both of them are doing in dog heaven at peace like this. They say when dogs are loved in their life, the cross over the rainbow bridge.

Definitely one of the best scenes in this animated gem from Don Bluth. I kind of relate to Charlie on things that are "ordered and planned". Of course, I would sing "Let Me Be Surprised" by myself a few times. The angel whippet Annabelle has such a nice voice 😇. But if only I could find someone to sing it with in a duet... Oh, well... *starts humming to self and pretends to waltz* 🎶 I need Brazil, the throb, the thrill. I've never been there, but someday, I will. Adventure and danger, love from a stranger. Let me be surprised... 🎶
When Charlie is resurrected, he comes out of the water. 0:04 He is nowhere to be seen when the car goes off the pier, meaning he was hit and deflected off to the side of the car, right? But, there's no dog being thrown off the pier either in that shot. Charlie had to have ducked under the car at the last second and the shock of almost being hit by a car gave him a heart attack, which made him fall off the pier. This wasn't Charlie dying, or he'd have broken bones and massive lacerations all over his body when he returned; this was a near-death experience.
We were supposed to SEE the impact of Charlie getting hit by the car, but, it was edited out as it was deemed to graphic for kids. Same thing went for the nightmare scene where Charlie is in Hell. It was trimmed down because some shots were deemed as too scary for kids.
@@Aequitas_RJ Well, with Watership Down (which Bluth had no involvement with) the Brits probably didn’t even watch the movie before rating it, and just assumed it was family friendly simply because it had talking animals. As for ADGTH, Don actually had an uncut version of the film in his own storage, but lost it somehow. However, someone actually found the footage cut from the Hell scene (I don’t even know how). Don also had some trimming and censorship happen with The Land Before Time. 11 minutes of it were cut due to it being too intense for kids, and while Don fought tooth and nail to have those 11 minutes kept in, he ultimately lost.
Is this what heaven really looks like for people and animals ? I had a cyst in my throat and it ruptured and I nearly died and I seen my grandma as a angel she passed away in march and she told me to go back with my sister and I came back to life
In the first movie, Annabelle comes off as in spite of having shades of pious overconfidence, she's way more ditzy and fun-loving, even enjoying Charlie dancing and flirting with her, compared to the sequels' authority figure who can seldom stand his nonsense. Though it could be argued that she was more friendly because she just met Charlie whereas in later works, she's grown wise to his self-centered tendencies. She also consistently refers to Charlie as just that, rather than her insistent appellation of "Charles" afterwards.

Yeah and I like All Dogs Go To Heaven Hazbin Hotel and Little Nicky.
My dog Buttons was hit by a truck late at night when I was around 12 years old because I didn't have her on a leash when I took her for a night walk. 10 years later and I still can't work up the nerve of ever owning another pet, let alone a dog. It was all my fault Buttons...you were the greatest dog a kid could ask for and I'm sorry for taking you for granted at such a young age. In whatever lies beyond death, I hope that you're happy and never have to experience lack of tummy rubs and scratches behind your big floppy ears ever again. I never deserved you and I'm so sorry you didnt have better. Whatever higher power is out there, I hope you're making it up to Buttons where I failed. I love you Buttons, I'm so sorry, and I've missed you ever since, may you rest in peace...
I like how silent the film goes when she says “welcome to being dead” and “see this watch is your life, and it stopped.” The silence in the film makes you realize that she’s serious and it’s real. It shows how dark Don Bluth films really are without it explicitly looking dark.
i called my mom and told her i wanted to watch all dogs go to heaven and now this is on my feed😕
One of my favourite movie as a kid... Now I think many of animations then was a lot darker than now. 😳
This whole scene hits different as an adult. Needing excitement and adventure vs contentment and peace (also idk if you can bone in heaven but Annabelle seemed down to clown)
Like the end of “The Good Place”, when eternal paradise becomes a curse.

I'd choose to go to The Hazbin Hotel Hell
Charlie is basically my old dog rambler as a cartoon. Who drowned in a rain barrel. R.I.P buddy.
Damn movie makes me cry. Old disney was awesome.. real life lessons and practical subjects with dark overtunes .
All Dogs Go to Heaven wasn’t made by Disney.
0:23 ~ gotta love when they break through that glass ceiling! We call it, the firmament 😱😳💕
I never understood why Charlie was so chummy with Carface considering he straight up murdered him in the first movie
It’s because Carface and Charlie were business partners until that pit bull turned traitor.
When you get to spend eternity in paradise, who cares about who did what?
@@willrobinson3662 Right, because money & power isn't meant to be shared. It belongs to ONE.
Because the writers of the sequel didn’t care about the first movie.

Or being in Heaven for a long time softened Carface.
5:14 As a kid, I thought she said "SHUT UP!" 😂😂
"there are no surprises, we know everything"... doesn't know of Charlies plans over the next few minutes.
Annabelle: ''All dogs go to Heaven because, unlike people, dogs are naturally good, and loyal, and kind''.
This movie and The Little Mermaid were both released simultaneously in theaters three days before I was even born. This November 17th, the film’s will be 33, and November 20th will be my 33rd birthday 🥳.
I was seven and in first grade when I saw this in theaters and my brother, Andrew, was five and in his last year of preschool.
2:57 As much as I love Charlie x Sasha, I like this. Even though this was before Charlie met Sasha.
I used to actually ship Charlie x Annabelle but when Sasha was introduced in the sequel I knew she was the one he was meant to be with. Annabelle has always been a kind hearted and teaching superior.
Isnt right after this where gordon freeman dies?
All dogs are good and naturally kind... And Carface just had Charlie killed.
2nd movie how did carface get into heaven we don't know.
Charlie is one of my favorite animated dogs beside Patch from 101 Da.
When I was a kid, I didn't understand what really happened there. At first I thought Charlie just fell into the water and those circular structures around him are air bubbles and for some reason a tunnel or portal to Dog Heaven was opened under the water so Charlie could go there without separating his soul from his body.
Me too! I never realized just how dark this movie is until I rewatched it as a teen/adult.
It's kind of sad when you realize Charlie was only two years old when he was murdered. That's the equivalent of a teenage human getting killed.
Charlie is an adult dog in 1939.
Even more sad when his voice actor died and the girl who plays Anne-Marie was murdered by her own dad a long time ago

If we ever got a modern take on All Dogs Go To Heaven movie series and tv series it would be called All Dogs Go To Hell with the same main characters and everything except Dog Hell would be switched with Dog Heaven and Dog Heaven switched with Dog Hell.
Broken dreams and out of reach stars, Charlie I will die so can live 😋
Ugh. Why am I watching this? My dog just died
I'm sorry

I’m sorry to hear that, it must’ve been hard for you. I bet it was your best friend, I give you my condolences
There was a Twilight Zone episode where a criminal dies and ends up in what he thinks is heaven, where he gets everything he wants all the time and there are no surprises. He eventually finds that its actually hell. Very interesting cause Charlie is also a career mob guy, and he also ends up in the same kind of place
Unlike people, dogs are naturally good, loyal, and kind. Lmao I actually believed that as a kid.
Unfortunately there was the dog who killed him in the first place

They won't be loyal to someone that doesn't feed them
Definitely one of the best scenes in this animated gem from Don Bluth. I kind of relate to Charlie on things that are "ordered and planned". Of course, I would sing "Let Me Be Surprised" by myself a few times. The angel whippet Annabelle has such a nice voice 😇. But if only I could find someone to sing it with in a duet...
Oh, well... *starts humming to self and pretends to waltz*
🎶 I need Brazil, the throb, the thrill. I've never been there, but someday, I will. Adventure and danger, love from a stranger. Let me be surprised... 🎶
This has been edited. In the vhs version I have from 1989, Charlie says, “Damn that Carface. I’ll kill him.” The first word has been removed.
@@thomashuffman3237 I guess Don Bluth was really put in "filmmaker timeout" after Watership Down.
It was the “you can never come back“
That used to haunt me as a kid
Oh my God they killed Charlie!

Lol I like South Park and my favorite Heaven and Hell adult show is Hazbin Hotel.
1:52 charlie trying to start his song again 😂
“Dogs are all naturally kind” *looks over at my little fucking gremlin of a chihuahua* “Yeah, sure.”
The fact that dogs kill more humans then sharks
Well to be fair there's a heck of a lot more people on land than on water at any given time.
@@hadriangonzalez607 That do be true though
Is this what heaven really looks like for people and animals ? I had a cyst in my throat and it ruptured and I nearly died and I seen my grandma as a angel she passed away in march and she told me to go back with my sister and I came back to life
There was originally a deleted scene where they actually showed Charlie getting hit.
I swear when i was little, you saw the car actually hit charlie, thats why theres this weird skip in all the updated versions
Those little baby angels in Heaven @ 1:42 always made me slightly sad, when I was growing up.
Rest in Peace Burt and Judith 💔😔
In the first movie, Annabelle comes off as in spite of having shades of pious overconfidence, she's way more ditzy and fun-loving, even enjoying Charlie dancing and flirting with her, compared to the sequels' authority figure who can seldom stand his nonsense. Though it could be argued that she was more friendly because she just met Charlie whereas in later works, she's grown wise to his self-centered tendencies. She also consistently refers to Charlie as just that, rather than her insistent appellation of "Charles" afterwards.
i miss you smallies. my heart is really broken
I think it's safe to say that Annabelle had a crush on Charlie. At least, that's how I always interpreted it.
