I love memory keeping in a narrow. It's so great not to have a 12 x 12 page staring at me. I keep a different book for each grandchild with their pictures and memories. I love it. I also have a book that goes back and forth between me in Oregon and my dear friend in The Netherlands. We together have made a really sweet book of our long distance friendship and it's been wonderful!
Hi Carole, the way you use your narrow is so precious, with keeping your memories stored and keeping up with your long distance friends, that is so sweet! Britta, Customer Care.
I admire so many things about you and the way you run your business. Your absolute honesty is just one of them. I’ve been ordering from the second chance sales and will continue to do so as I have been so so happy with what I’ve received thus far. Thank you so very much.
I started with a narrow. I love it, the way it feels in the hand, the tallness of it attracts me also. I also love the wide and A5. I have a personal that I used for my shopping notebook but I have gone back to a narrow as my wallet and coupon holder. Love love love narrow.
Oh yes..... The OG size I have nicknamed it. Honestly: I will always love narrow aka standard because it's my first TN love. I'm always gonna reach for this size. It's my planner peace size and I definitely need to get a new narrow soon.
Thank you for this series, Jennifer! It's been great! I dislike all the rectangular sizes except personal - and that's because I'm using it as a wallet and for lists also (still prefer my pockets though, but love not having to fold bills in the personal). So you'd think I'd love A6 instead of pocket, right? Nope. Loathe A6 and adore pocket. Isn't it weird how we can be affected by such small differences in sizes? I'm so glad there are so many to choose from now!
The narrow is the first notebook I bought from you in 2014 (and I’m still buying them!). I recently went back to this size after trying every other. I’m totally nostalgic about it! 💜
I gave away my narrow that I began with. I also will never go back to it. B6 slim is just 1 inch shorter, so I cut down my inserts 1 inch to use in one of my favorite sizes... Love to hear your history, and your opinions. Thank you for sharing this! It is so neat that we have so many choices to find what works best for us personally. I just wish I could settle on one size! I just love to change frequently, so I have quite the collection. :)
What I like about narrow is the nice quality paper offered by the traveler's company. I use this size for journaling and Christmas planning. Loving these size reviews 👍
The narrow is a perfect fit for carrying letter folded papers and envelopes so I keep the original midori in my bag. My other favorite narrow is my 2017 Outlander jitney red classic. I love it. That stays in the desk because it’s not replaceable.
I really like your opinions. I like your honesty. You speak definite in what you like and what you do not like. I like your integrity in that you have given it a good try, meaning each size of journal. You make them for others and that is grand. Your assessment of each size also is assisting me in choosing what will work for me. It will be a major investment for me and my life. Thank you. I appreciate you.
mt first CS was a chocolate creme deluxe and I still love it but after taht, I got wides as I had more options for inserts (sometimes hard to get the insets for standards in Bermuda) i can use cahier or standard size inserts or I can stuff it, I have now tried A5, personal (in sidekick) B6 (by accident my hubby got one for me at xmas), B6Slim (my planner peace with a jibun techo) and pocket, I really want a passport but can't decide on the leather. thank you for your wonderful products Jen and the CS team
I have just one Narrow, (purchased 2 - gave the classic one to my granddaughter), mine is a Pemberley Poppy, I love the leather and the color. I’m using it as a “scrapping” travel journal. It has plenty of room to journal and paste in tidbits collected on the journey/vacation - or pictures/drawings. So far, so good! Thanks CS for this beautiful TN.
So many leathers, so many colors, so many sizes! I've given up on planner peace😂 I love my 2 Narrows: Classic Creme Chocolate for sermon notes, Classic Claire for my junk journal and scripture writing. (But at the moment I'm journaling in A6...and might at some point go back to journaling in my Narrow...or my B6...or my B6 Slim...or my A5...sigh.)😁 Loved the video!! 😊💜
Hi Cheryl! Maybe your planner peace just means you get to have size options available to you at all times; nothing wrong with that! I hope you have a lovely weekend! Britta, Customer Care.
I go through phases of loving and hating the narrow size. I'm currently loving it though 😍😃 I'm using it as a scrapbook journal at the moment. Less writing and more photos , stamping etc and I think it's working great for that.
On the sidebar the next video in the queue is from 2014 showing how to make envelopes for your TN that you reference in this video. I have been watching your videos in this series and at the same time stalking your Size 101 page because i am looking for a notebook to hold the painted collections that i like to read before bedtime and i really need it to be that bright yellow chamomile it's so pretty
I hope it is easy for you to find the right size now but if you ever need extra help please feel free to call us at (509)325-7206 or email support@chicsparrow.com. Thanks for watching this series! - Britta, Customer Care.
My first TN from you = the narrow pemberley aubergine. I, like you, have moved on to a more “happy” size - pocket. Thank you for sharing all the sizes.
I just ordered a narrow golden Maverick from you. Anyway, I got it specifically for traveling. I want to be able to put those fold out travel pamphlets in it, but also have it be a reasonable size. The only other narrow I have in my collection is an American Dream Deluxe in Paradise I think it is. I used it as a daily journal once, but I like to include pictures and other thing the narrow size didn't suit me for journaling. I prefer the B6. But the ruggedness of Maverick leather should make it perfect for traveling. And beautiful. It's my favorite of your leathers.
I used a standard/narrow as an actual Traveler's Notebook. It was a Midori cover with their inserts and accessories, and it came with me on a trip to the UK. It was a perfect traveling companion, and I discovered that the narrow TN is exactly the right size for opening and writing in while riding on the UK's national rail lines. The little fold-down tables exactly hold an open notebook in this size.
I used to use the narrow when I first started in December 2016. I had an insert before I purchased the actual travelers notebook. I did purchase a classic chocolate creme in January 2017 and used it for a little while. Now I use it as a travel journal and I use b6 slim as my EDC. I use an e class with 2 Nanami B6 slim cafe notes inside
I just ordered the Narrow, the A6, the Passport plus and the pocket. I will use the passport for wallet, the A6 for journaling, the Narrow for my financial budget and the pocket, to probably be as another wallet option in case I find the passport plus too bulky. I love Chic Sparrow! Just discovered your site and went crazy!!! I'm so excited, 2 of them are arriving tomorrow 8/28!! Excited excited excited
I think the personal is my happy place. I ordered an A6, and a personal nightingale, and I use the A6, but I don't pick it up as much as the personal. I just love holding the personal size and squishing it. lol
I started my TN journey in a Midori then I found you on Etsy around that time and you had orphan sales and I found my first Chic Sparrow and it was in field note size; I have not seen a color like it and tried to find out what kind it is but in seeing your leathers never another like it in all the CS people share. Tried many TN’s and the size A5 for Bullet Journaling thanks to One Book July 2019. My favorite for sermon notes is a Standard Mr. Darcy in Toffee the right size for that. I share all of this to say when you started this series I realize that size matters for what the purpose of my TN is being used for and I have more than one favorite size😱.
You are not alone! We have had a good amount of feedback from this series that customers love different sizes for different purposes.😄 Britta, Customer Care.
I want one because I have a bunch of stencils in folders that look tailor-made to be stored in a Narrow... but I think I’ll wait for a good sale and get a Classic Second Chance! It is nice that you make it, since it is the “original” TN, but I’m with you on the proportions. Just not right except for those silly stencils.
Michelle Stephenson Ahhhh priorities. I gotcha. I wish I could buy all that my heart desires at once but that’s not my budget either. I also like to wait for sales and there will always be another. That Matcha looks delicious and I think I saw somewhere that they will be up soon. Yes I just found it on Facebook. Looks like it will be available next week. I hope it’s everything you expect and more. Enjoy.
I have a pocket size, standard size, personal size and 2 A5 sizes. I use each for different journaling/planner needs and love each one for each of its purposes. It just works for me to have various sizes for these various functions. Could be just an excuse to get more TN's. Ha. I am not a TN addict... I can stop any time I want.... lol
I feel the same way about the narrow/standard. I keep the ones I started with, but they stay home. Wanted to tell you how lovely you look in that color! Periwinkle? Thank you for making lovely things💐😊
@@monicak1832 I keep my A5 at home. But when I travel I have it with me. I use the Hobonichi Cousin daily. The A5 Chic Sparrow Golden Maverick is sturdy and beautiful.
Hi Lisa, I will keep that in mind for a future video; I know that Jennifer's story is sprinkled throughout a few of her already made videos but we will consider making a one specifically about Chic Sparrow and how things got started. Britta, Customer Care.
Hi Jennifer, I love my pocket sizes for everyday and travel , but still love the size of my original Midori standard TN for journaling . Would you do a custom order and cut down a classic style to the same size as a Midori TN ( as I don't prefer to oversuff or have overhang? Thanks...
I like the narrow/standard size, except it ends up being a brick in my hand and then I abandon it. I intend on getting a single strap at some time to help cut down on my need to carry the kitchen sink and feeling as if it were actually in the TN! lol
Strangely, I tried every other size before I landed on the narrow! I love it - it feels creative to me. But we all love different things and that's what makes the world go around!
I started out in a Prima narrow TN. At that time I was all about rings and didn’t want to invest too much to see if TNs could work for me. After I realized how much I enjoyed the concept, I started searching for a more permanent solution and found Dave’s “dude’s TN” video (since all the over-the-top setups were too much for me): ua-cam.com/video/xCJPYq0SzT8/v-deo.html. That video led me to the website, which led me to search FB for the group and the rest is history. I agree with you, narrow is not my jam. Once I spent some more time in the group and asked a TON of questions, I learned there was so much more out there to choose from. The narrow has since been given to a friend who loves it and I couldn’t be happier in my A6 and B6/B6 slims. Thanks so much for doing these videos, Jen! I know how valuable they’re going to be to someone just starting out in the TN journey. ☺️
I’m loving this series!!’ So helpful to get ideas and a nice review before you buy..
