Great aquarium! just make sure to use the master test kit properly. There’s two bottles for ammonia and you only used one, which is why it didn’t show properly. Also, you can put a prefilter sponge on both the input and output of the filter to baffle the flow. Like you said, the fish were getting bullied by the filter. It will also prevent the fish’s fins or other debris from getting sucked up into the filter. If you do that be sure to add multiple air stones for surface agitation (it replaces oxygen in the tank.) You should also move the filter output to the other side of the tank. It will help distribute the heater’s heat and will create a current in the tank. For a first tank, or any tank- it’s an AMAZING aquarium. I wish I had the room for a 75 gallon. You could get a 30 gallon tank, put your current fish into that tank, then get angelfish or another big fish for the big tank. Or you could add more fish to the tank after it’s more established. Anyway, great tank, and thanks for reading this long comment! EDIT: I also appreciate that you did a lot of research before you setup the tank. Lots of people just put bettas into bowls!
@@flaming547 I had a half moon betta and he was very chill 😂. Sadly, he had a disease and died. So I keep fish myself and here are some tips for you, Luke. 1. It's best to put the thermometer at the bottom of the tank. 2. When filling up your tank, you can use plastic wrap (by putting it in front of the siphon) to prevent the sand from shifting. 3. Also a bubbler will be significant, so your fish will get plenty of oxygen. Hope your fishies will live a good life!

Well, he has plants in his tank. And those will help with the oxygen. The air pump or "bubblers" won't provide oxygen to the fishes. It's the movement in water that creates tiny oxygen particles in water. Bubbles just create a movement + I can also see the water moving from his filter, so it will be fine :)
I've had fish for 7 years, and for a beginner tank you did a really good job! If your interested I have a few suggestions: 1. Quick start helps, but you should wait a few weeks still. Its mostly just a booster. 2. You can rinse the sand outside to help. 3. A UV light should help with cloudy water and algae. (Although some algae can actually be beneficial). 4. Snails are great, I would add a few besides ones you already have from the plants. 5. I like your stocking choices! With the guppies, add a 3 to 1 ratio of females if you want babies. (Currently you just have males). Of course, just males can be great too although eventually you'll have to replace them. The betta fish is SUPER risky though, especially because its a male. They are okay with some species in large tanks, but these guppies have flowy fins so watch out for nipping and remove immediately if you see that. 6. When putting fish into your tank use a net to so dirty water won't go into the tank. 7. Mollies, Platies, and Neon Tetras are also great beginner fish to add in the future.

Hey luke. Just letting you know that the plants will be fine, you should also try to reduce the output of the filter until the fish dont look like they’re struggling to swim. I recognise your struggles with planting the the roots into the soil and I admire your patience with everything. I really do envy your patience. Btw really love your tank and hope your fish do well :)
You didn’t put the drops from ammonia Bottle number two In and even though you had a quick start you still have to cycle your tank for a month even though Bettas are really hardy it will eventually get really sick from the ammonia nitrate and nitrite in the tank please do more research on properly cycling a fish tank
As an aquarium hobby enthusiast, you should remove as many snails as you can. Most likley they are ramshorn snails and these snails reproduce so bad they will take over your tank within months.
The filter makes enough surface tension for the oxexsen to be dissolved so he doesn't really need it , I have one and only use it for emergency porpuses, it's weird that they are at the top so maybe they do need one

hi luke i been keeping fish for a long time now and i just wana recomend you some spiecies that can work in your tank 1. shrimp they are benificial to a fish tank with your current fish and how the tank is set up i think you can have some cherry shrimp but if you are scared that they will be eaten i would recomend amino shrimp they are a little bit bigger 2. bambo shrimp with your filter they will be a good adition to a tank you will see them on loogs tryng to filter any food in the tank 3. Neon Tetras they like moving water so you can add sum i recomend 5 of them so they are happy 4. assasin snail they will eat the small baby snails those small baby snails you found are invasive they will breed and take over the whole tank they will eat all the plants 5. a mexican dwarf craw fish they are small and can work well because of the rocks 6.cory catfish are cool little fish who are gonna eat uneaten food 7. pleco plecos are a fish that grow big so i personaly only keep one 8. "I hope the guppies don't attack each other" 🤣 He's learning though I have 6 years of fish keeping and breeding and it's a lot of work and reading to get good at everything, beast of luck on your new fish quest!
The aquascape is great, and the fish you chose benefit you, as they don't make much pollution, which means the less often you have to do a water change!
A really well done tank but there are a couple things that need a change. 1. The filter needs to be less aggressive. 2. Reduce the amount of plants-Guppies are very active swimmers that need space. 3. 1 or 2 caves should be added since Bettas are cave lovers and it would also reduce the risk of him attacking a Guppy.
Yes as a fellow fish/shrimp keeper he was a bit of a beginner but nonetheless he still did better then most non-fish youtubers. As he had a male betta with long/fancy tailed guppies or how he didn't wash the decor etc.
Yeah I'm a beginner myself, but researched everything, I am still learning, I definitely made mistakes, first attempt I had a sandcap over soil, I had very muddy water 😂 then the plants died sand was hard to clean, I could not get lava rock to stick to anything and it be sturdy. After months figuring everything out, switching to an undergravel filter, with has been the best thing I did, kept the sponge filter too, gravel is much better than sand for me. I had a perfect ecosystem, just needed top offs. Of course after all the hard work I see water around the tank, take it all down for it not to be leaking and the mesh I had as a cover siphoned water out 😶 so bought a bigger tank spent far to much money on rocks but I love it, can't wait for the plants to grow out 😊

Great video. I found it super relatable since me myself made my first planted aquarium with stem plants recently.
Wayyy to much work but Luke spends his week doing this for us so let’s appreciate the work he puts into his videos!
This is how much work is necessary for proper care of an aquarium, maybe you are just too lazy to think about that
The amount of times luke got mad got me dying
Its amazing you did all the research before doing it. Kudos And it looks amazing for a first time tank!
Broo the small plant is tied to rock or driftwood (anubias). And try to use aqua soil for big plant growth
BRO YOU CANT PUT A BETTA WHIT GUPPYS
Dang 😶
You can just buy a non aggressive Betta see if it flares at other Betta if it doesn't it's ok
As an aquarium hobby enthusiast, you should remove as many snails as you can. Most likley they are ramshorn snails and these snails reproduce so bad they will take over your tank within months.
Like this if he should do more videos on his aquarium.
I study this stuff all day your tank is great
13:48 it’s soo satisfying to see the rocks absorb the water.
❤ woah first!!! Love your videos :)
Your the real first
Real first nice
The video says 30 min ago but you're comment says 31 min ago 💀
Bro you bought all male guppies
I have 5 male guppies in my fish tank
your tank is missing an air pump, that's what makes them breath
The filter makes enough surface tension for the oxexsen to be dissolved so he doesn't really need it , I have one and only use it for emergency porpuses, it's weird that they are at the top so maybe they do need one
@@AdamGolding-t1kyes this air pumps aren’t necessary till they are needed
Don't forget that you have wash out ever 2 weeks. Love your vids!
1 like = 1 fishy
Bro 6fishh

Hell nah
27fish
I love this vid!!!🔥 I need a part 2!!!
Please keep making videos like this and setting up your office! 😮
I love people like him and I was shocked because his betta is a wild and for all y’all not believing me look at a wild betta it has vibrant spots like his betta
Is it a coincidence that you are my favourite UA-camr and we’ve got the exact same fish😮
hi luke i been keeping fish for a long time now and i just wana recomend you some spiecies that can work in your tank
1. shrimp they are benificial to a fish tank with your current fish and how the tank is set up i think you can have some cherry shrimp but if you are scared that they will be eaten i would recomend amino shrimp they are a little bit bigger
2. bambo shrimp with your filter they will be a good adition to a tank you will see them on loogs tryng to filter any food in the tank
3. Neon Tetras they like moving water so you can add sum i recomend 5 of them so they are happy
4. assasin snail they will eat the small baby snails those small baby snails you found are invasive they will breed and take over the whole tank they will eat all the plants
5. a mexican dwarf craw fish they are small and can work well because of the rocks
6.cory catfish are cool little fish who are gonna eat uneaten food
7. pleco plecos are a fish that grow big so i personaly only keep one
8. Kuhli loach The true Kuhli loach, occasionally referred to as eel loach, is a small eel-like freshwater fish belonging to the loach family. They originate from the island of Java in Indonesia. This snake-like creature is very slender and nocturnal
9.Bala shark The bala shark also known as the tricolor shark, tricolor sharkminnow, silver shark, or shark minnow, is a fish of the family Cyprinidae, and is one of the two species in the genus Balantiocheilos. This species is not a true shark, but is commonly so called because of its torpedo-shaped body and large fins
Tank is too small to house a school of full grown bala sharks
This video is so perfect for the best aquarium setup 🔥🔥🔥
18:12 i did not know that plants can grow??😂😂
18:25 hopefully you know that plants grow😂😂😂
"I hope the guppies don't attack each other" 🤣 He's learning though I have 6 years of fish keeping and breeding and it's a lot of work and reading to get good at everything, beast of luck on your new fish quest!
when he was talking about going away for a couple days and finding a place for it to stay, it reminded me of that tiktok he made XD
this is my first time seeing Luke Davidson mad before but mad RESPECT for him he puts the time in his videos and also i love fish so win win
The problem solving capabilities of this man are insane😮
As a fish owner this actually help me out
it is nice that most of his information checks out and hopefully some of his viewers got fish tank because of him
I thought he was making a monster tank but the way he compromised with the size of his fishes was too hilarious 😂
The aquascape is great, and the fish you chose benefit you, as they don't make much pollution, which means the less often you have to do a water change!
never seen a youtuber do research before. good job
To be honest your first aquarium looks really sick it’s so cool for a first timer
for some reason i loved the "honestly i have no clue" 1:32
Try glow tetra
Its some colourful fishes
It will make ur tank beautiful
This guy definetly has kid friendly videos❤ and after like 20 years his house will be a Zoo
Lol he didn’t have to glue the logs
Love this man, we need more UA-camrs like him
How cool you are having a pet fish!!!!!
And also it’s very easy have a fish but when you clean it isint
Bro bought a huge tank for the goofiest fish, he should’ve bought some cichlids 😂😂😂 🤦♂️
1:41 Pro fishtanker 😂
A really well done tank but there are a couple things that need a change.
1. The filter needs to be less aggressive.
2. Reduce the amount of plants-Guppies are very active swimmers that need space.
3. 1 or 2 caves should be added since Bettas are cave lovers and it would also reduce the risk of him attacking a Guppy.
Plant first and then fill up lol new aquarium user's are so fun 2 watch 😊
Luke is soon gonna have a huge unwanted snail population
18:47 welcome to my life 😭
So many things he did wrong (understandably since he's a beginner I assume) but my anxiety level went through the roof. 😂
