- Part 2 of my trip to Italy, and then north to Norway, this part is primaryly the transit through Austria, an entering Germany at Kiefersfelden. I hope you will enjoy the trip :)

Can you explain the reason Austria has a driving ban from 10pm to 5am stopping trucks ?
Wouldn't it be better to allow trucks to drive at this time when there is no cars on the road ? I don't understand. Or is it just stupid EU regulations ??
No, this is an Austrian invention. They introduced it in 1989 to protect the night's rest of the residents. There is only one exception for low noise, L signs, vehicles.

When do we see the new truck on the road?
Hopefully soon, time is the issue, and I have been off the road for 3 weeks because having surgery, but I am fine now, and if plans hold, I will be back on the road on Thursday .. so I can get the cameras rolling in summer Norway 😊👍

Like you, I could never cope with 'local' runs. Always had to see what was over the next hill or around the next bend. Never quite got to do the Middle East run though:( :(

Ciao Fausto Gianelli, no dal 1994 al 2003 ero solita guidare in Italia ogni due settimane, a quei tempi, ero solito guidare dalla Danimarca a Bari o Brindisi, poi navigare verso la Grecia e guidare fino a casa attraverso Bulgaria, Romania, Ungheria, Austria e Germania ... un costante viaggio di andata e ritorno, normalmente ci sono voluti 12 - 13 giorni 😊👍
