I did this today following your video. Well done and thanks. I wanted to avoid breaking the bolt as you did so I soaked penetrating oil on the nut before loosening. That wasn't good enough and the bolt broke anyway. Looks like you got to be really careful with that one. There was still a little thread sticking up so I put the bracket over it and just used the bottom bolt. The left over thread on the top bolt kept the bracket from moving in 2 dimensions and I figured the bottom bolt would hold it in the 3rd dimension.
Late to the party, but to anyone thinking of attempting this, consider removing the front headlight first as he does later in the video. It will help you tremendously in terms of visibility and access and you most likely won't have to do some of his earlier steps like removing the inverter bolts and lifting it for more access.
❤ thanks for showing me how's to do it very clearly and easy way .may I ask you the unit (big box on the top of transmission )what it call and is it possible to remove it please thanks
You put me to shame. I give you credit for all you do mechanically. After watching this, I opted to get mine fixed professionally. I will stick to shooting firearms accurately and proficiently.
Just had this repair done on my wife's 2008 Prius. So of course I wanted to come here to see how I might have done it myself and then beat myself up for not doing it. Uh.. I am too old for this stuff. Could they have buried this thing any more in the engine compartment? And of course I am sure every one of those bolts on our car would have been seized or I would stripped them. Glad I saw this so I can stop smarting over the 500 dollar repair tab. It was worth having a pro do it. But thanks for the video!
I took headlight out, made things alot easier, especially removing the pump and disconnecting the lower hose...+ 20 minutes for that. Took me 4 hrs for pump and 2 hrs for coolant change and bleed. Dot on the upper hose makes it difficult to reconnect incorrectly. I just disconnected accessory battery for 2 min to delete check engine light. I lubed some of the rusted fasteners with anti seize and replaced some with new.
great video! it helped me a lot. For a while I was hearing constant see-saw kind of noise from the valve, as it is opening and closing then after a while it failed and it threw the error P1121 . So, I replaced the coolant valve and I have proper amount of coolant. The code is gone but I hear constant see-saw kind of noise is still there. What could be the problem? Is that noise normal?
Hi Aiman. Your explanation was very useful for me, thank you very much. I still have problem with my prius 2006... "P1121", even I changed Coolant Flow Control Valve, the sign "CHECK ENGIN" and "P1121" remains... Can you give me same advise how to resolve this problem?.....
I had problem with that bolt breaking too. I think it was a lot easier pulling the valve out from the bottom after removing the plastic mud shields on left under side of car.
Does my 2008 sienna have one it over heats they have replaced pump thermostat radiator and head gasket is not blown I also don't get heater inthe back or front. I will only get heater if the rpm goes to 4 thousand pls help

Try unplugging the negative input from the small battery in the trunk and plugging it back in
Amazing video! Great work!! very helpful!!

Where can I get this part for Prius 2002 ??? please help if you have an idea! thank you
If I have this done at an autobody, does anyone know if I need to go to a hybrid specialist, or can I go to any ordinary one?
Hello Aiman do you really have to pinch the hoses or pinch it once at a time
I do NOT have the 3-Way Coolant Flow Control Valve on my Toyota Prius I4 1.5L Hybrid Synergy Drive Gen II. How is it even possible??
is p1121 code related to p1122 code what is the difference?
