"Ash Ultra" sounds very digital and cool but also analytical and I really like this gentle effect that doesn't seem compressed or exaggerated at all and it always depends on the music itself, whether you need a heavy effect or a gentle one and each plugin has a different programming in the sound.
Thanks for sharing. I completely agree with you. And that’s exactly why I own all three of the mentioned including Gold clip. I don’t own orange clip (Used demo for the video). Orange wasn’t adding anything over P44, Ash & Standard clip, those three cover all basis.

I moved over to getting the Softube Clipper after another sale, and a warning I'm somewhat crazy, but I use the Softube Clipper going into Schwabe Gold Clip. The Softube Clipper is unique in that it can do RMS and peak clipping, which I'm doing about 3 dB RMS clipping and about 1 dB peak here. There's a decent control set for both that's helpful in setup to dial in your clipping. Next, Gold Clip, I've pushed the input just 1 dB but pulled down the blue clip bar -2 dB, and the Gold classic at 3.50 and classic alchemy at .5, I think box tone is classic too. I may be clipping another 1 to 2 at most dB off the top. The Softube gets used because of RMS and peak clipping, seemingly like the Ash you showed. This one is interesting and I may need to look at it. Schwabe Gold Clip is my go-to though. I can clip really clean or not, depends on how hard it's pushed and where Gold is set. With my 1, 2 combo, Gold Clip is in my clean mode. Interesting comparison, I like this. Great job.

all great tools, Orange Clip is pretty unique for people who dont work in FL studio, because it gives that damn sound lol Gold Clip is amazing, discovering it lately. AA Ash (ultra) is cool as boxtone, give its best in softclipping mode using the Lawry Gold algos. P44 can do real damage on the stereo buss, a must have. Dont forget Newfangled Saturate, it's a gem. cya
the first thing i noticed is that Newfangled Saturate is missing from the video. You ask "Why". Because you can push it quite hard and it retains the overall balance quite well imho. Also the "detail preservation" feature works pretty well. I noticed that you did use different modes in Ash but left Standard clip in soft clip pro mode. I would expect the Hard Clip mode to sound tighter on this type ob beat but now we`ll never know Gold Clip to me is my go to mastering clipper. It is so clean if needed that one might forget what kind of clipping is going on. Also the "Gold" knob amazing when used on the right mix. Feels like an Upwards Ambience kind of processor Thinking of the price difference between standard clip and p44 makes me think that standard clip has a phenomenal value for money and also is an awesome tool regardless of price that has proven its worth over and over again through time What i really miss in most clippers is a SC filter in order to use them for more precise "coloring" in case you want for example to leave the low end unscathed or leave the high end clean etc etc. Thats it. Thanks for the video. Keep em coming !
So just to clarify this isn’t a paid sponsorship video but instead these are all plugs in I’ve bought with my own money and used everyday. I actually do use Nufangle clipper all the time but inside of the Elevate limiter and it’s awesome. I don’t own Saturate however.
Regarding standard clip, Pro mode is the only mode that has the option for the saturator slider & that slider is one of my favourite features. So I wanted to present the plugin in what I believe to be its strongest form! 🙌
Oh amazing there’s more! Let me read. Also please share with me anything else you think should be in here as I may be a part 2 in future and try to buy all of them 😅

@@WhoIsAlexElliott I think Hornet planer does bottom up and top down clipping.. . You can dial it in either way or both. I might be wrong on that, but that's how it seems. It's also only 9Euro! I too love Saturate.
All Great, But character comes.from the P44, Gold Clip and Orange have similar characters can tell its from the same family, Ultra and Standard Clip holds they grand nicely as well. But for me, if it's for tone forwardness and width jts P44 all the way. However a combination of say Gold clipping and the character of the P44 come be gems 💎. 😂 all subjective to what tone one is looking to achieve. Great video, great track as well 🔥🌋💣

Gold Clip sounds more dynamic to me, while P44 is has the most Character! Standard Clip sounds more middle ground, something a Mastering Engineer would like and use. I don't like the Ash Ultra at all, too harsh! LOL Let me put it this way, I would buy the Standard Clip for every day use and the P44 creative use.

How much better is the P44? I own Gold Clip, not sure I want to spend more on an expensive plug. However I can hear something going on that sets it apart. Could someone enlighten me?
Ahhhh, I got to get the P44. It sounds like Standard Clip on Steroids 😂. I no longer care or want Gold or Orange Clip. Will continue to use SC for mastering though.
Really nice beat👍 but for the clipper test procedure i have to say it's not a good test hasn't any useful information...because of the clipper type...you should have started with hard clipping first because it's easy to reproduce the behavior but for soft clipping there are to many variables not just knee etc...but they should be in an same as possible state when soft clipping is compared...anyway it's not rocket science and the test video is good anyway 🙏👍thx

@@WhoIsAlexElliott own KClip and Softube new Clipper and they are also worth mentioning
the first thing i noticed is that Newfangled Saturate is missing from the video. You ask "Why". Because you can push it quite hard and it retains the
overall balance quite well imho. Also the "detail preservation" feature works pretty well.
I noticed that you did use different modes in Ash but left Standard clip in soft clip pro mode. I would expect the Hard Clip mode to sound tighter on this type ob beat but now we`ll never know
Gold Clip to me is my go to mastering clipper. It is so clean if needed that one might forget what kind of clipping is going on.
Also the "Gold" knob amazing when used on the right mix. Feels like an Upwards Ambience kind of processor
Thinking of the price difference between standard clip and p44 makes me think that standard clip has a phenomenal value for money and also is
an awesome tool regardless of price that has proven its worth over and over again through time
What i really miss in most clippers is a SC filter in order to use them for more precise "coloring" in case you want for example to leave the low end unscathed or leave the high end clean etc etc.
Also please share with me anything else you think should be in here as I may be a part 2 in future and try to buy all of them 😅
A side chain in a clipper is a fantastic idea! And I agree that value wise standard clip is unbeatable. Standard clip was my first ever clipper! So it always has a place in my workflow. Thanks for sending a detailed comment! Love talking about this stuff!
Great video, great track as well 🔥🌋💣
Haha that’s why I own them all 😂👌. Thanks for stopping by and leaving a comment.
To anyone reading this, this guy is a dope mastering engineer!
I would love a Collab even if it's just going to be material for your tutorials FR 💯 I look up to you damn damn!! This is dope.
I think a clipper worth mentioning is Pancz. It's got New York compression and you can switch between Clipper and Limiter with the bonus of being multiband enabled
Hay brother thanks for the kind words!. And I’m going to check out that plug in ASAP! Also Drop me a message on Instagram!
Gold clip has depth none of the others have so on mix bus before limiter id do gold clip but on a drum element id say P44
Great analysis. Thanks for sharing and stopping by. 👌
Gold Clip sounds more dynamic to me, while P44 is has the most Character!
Standard Clip sounds more middle ground, something a Mastering Engineer would like and use.
I don't like the Ash Ultra at all, too harsh! LOL
Let me put it this way, I would buy the Standard Clip for every day use and the P44 creative use.
Thanks for the comment and sharing your viewpoint. Solid point about standard clip and mastering engineers!. It’s so interesting hearing everyone’s view.
Dope beat, love your beats, so much vibe. Great video too.
Have you tried Stillwell Audio Event horizon? That is also a great clipper.
P.S. I'm only listening to this on my phone speaker in the Singapore airport, and over my phone in the MMA round the P44 sounded the biggest, fullest and most vibey. Even over my phone speaker it sounded so good.
That used to be one of my absolute favourites but after the switch to M1 Apple silicon it wasn’t supported. But maybe they have updated it now ? 🥺🥺
@@WhoIsAlexElliott I'm not sure if they have as I'm a Windows user, it might be worth going to their site and downloading it to see if they have.
Voxengo OVC-128
Massively-Oversampled Clipper?
Havnt used those in years. Damn! Glad they are still around and will check out!
@@WhoIsAlexElliott Yer man. Acustica Ash for mastering as well seems a fav.
@@thegroove2000 ash still get use over here also when I need clean gain
How much better is the P44? I own Gold Clip, not sure I want to spend more on an expensive plug. However I can hear something going on that sets it apart. Could someone enlighten me?
A 40 days free trial with no restrictions is the best way to get enlightened.
Exactly what the gentlemen said above. I was skeptical but I used the 40day demo and bought it on day 2 😂🙌.
@@WhoIsAlexElliott Yup this thing is bananas! How does it sound so good? it just slaps!
@@threethievesmusic honestly I love it so much!
Ahhhh, I got to get the P44. It sounds like Standard Clip on Steroids 😂. I no longer care or want Gold or Orange Clip. Will continue to use SC for mastering though.
It’s super powerful you won’t regret it!
Every tune has a different character requiring a different character tool.
Exactly this. That’s why I own them all. 💪
Exactly this. That’s why I own them all!
Thanks for feedback
P44
Then orange clip.
I have standard clip and gold clip.
Solid list. And thanks for the comment!
Orange clip sounds ugly tbh.
@@hayabusa3133 thanks for sharing. What was the stand out for you?
@@WhoIsAlexElliott gold clip sounds best of all, but in terms of value, StandardCLIP is my go to, it's just 25$
For me I think as long as you don’t give your opinion which is best , then there is no need for me to see the video, on UA-cam the story became that very one want to grow his Yotube channel then it’s a waste of time, what made me look here is the title because i wanted to know me too which is best but your video from beginning made to continue it as long as you waste your time & made a video & don’t give your opinion , then ?????? What
Appreciate the honesty. This video was to show you many examples so that you can pick the best one. My best is not going to be the next persons best. As you can see in the comments everyone says something different 👍.
