thought i would give you a quick easy tutorial for getting your lift master garage door opener on to the wifi of your home so you can open it well you are away with the my q app. i hope this do it yourself walk through tutorial helps you get it hooked up on to your mobile device.

I have an old school Chamberlain Lift Master the door button doesn't have a sync button it. Only a sync button on the ceiling unit itself. I do have an outside keypad as well. Will this be able to work on my old unit?

Hi Everyone, Everything works fine but i do not get the WIFI prompt to select my WIFI at home. Everything else works fine it's just im stuck there. Anyone else having this issue? Im able to locate the WIFI for the machine but as soon as it goes to look for wifi available it just spins and spins and then timeous out.
Hello. Thank you for the video. Does anyone knows if the repetitive beeping is just a feature of the mobile app or it will change the beeping from my other devices (remote controls and door panel?) as well?
Does it always do the warning stuff when closing? Mine doesn't do that with the keyboard or wall button now. I don't want it to.

I hit the learn button on the wall openers and on the motor no beep or blinking blue light. Can't figure out why it's not working the same model as in the video.
Can you open the door with myQ partially, and also can you disable the beeping sound??

My opener has the MyQ logo on it but it doesnt seem to be compatible somehow.
What if it says myQ on the garage motor without the WiFi logo? What is the module that’s needed?
Hello, first off great video, super easy to follow. Second, I am looking to get a similar Liftmaster Garage Door Opener with built in WiFi. It seems the rumors are correct being that when you close the door you get that annoying beep before it closes. I know it is an alarm for warning but can that beep be turned off so that only the light flashes? Also, I read that only one phone can be connected to the garage door, is that the case? So if I set up the MyQ App and have a login, can my wife and I both log in to that account and control the door separately from each of our phones? Thanks
Should be fine. When they were has it on both his and his wife's phone it just might log one of you out when one is logged in
After I find my garage door number it doesn't show me any wifi connection where I have to enter password ? Any reason to why its not showing any wifi connection ? I have my wifi connected
Hey my garage door opener is a liftmaster but it’s the cube won and it says myQ on the side so will it work the same way?
Depends I ran into this problem my opener says “myQ” on it but I had to buy the external unit because my opener was not WiFi capable.

We just got a similar LiftMaster and we love it. Question though: is there any way to stop the continuous beeping when you close it using a smartphone? We find it a bit distracting...
I do not believe you can as it's a security feature.

If yours says wifi on it anywhere no you do not

Hi, thank you. Does it need a device 828LM gateway connected with cable to the router?
If yours has the MyQ symbol and the Wi-Fi symbol on the side of it you do not. If it says in your manual it's Myq ready then chances are yes you will need that gateway module just look up your model number and check the manual
I had my iphone connected and it worked fine. I deleted the program temporarily for other reasons then reconnected. Once I did I got the multiple flashing light and beeping when the door closes which incredibly annoying. I assumed I programmed it incorrectly since the first time I connected it beeped once for up and once for down.
Can anyone explain how to change the door closing warning to one flash and one beep. It worked the first time?

Probably the most recent version of the app causes the beeps or a update that happened to the garage door opener

Dude, time for you to upgrade to the Liftmaster 8500W Wall Mount Opener. It is awesome, nice and quiet, and it takes up less space.
Came with my house that's a bit over a year old definitely will probably do that and or a roll up door

I can never hear the chime - even tried to unplug the lift master and then tried to hit the yellow button the three times on the lift master but STILL can't get that chime.
At that point depending on age of unit i would give lift master a call incase its a defective unit. Might need it to be warrantied
What do I do if I bought a house and the garage opener was programmed to the old owner?
Should be able to reset it and start from scratch

Nope, have an iPhone and after trying this 20 times it still doesn’t connect.
I would try unplugging your garage door opener and letting it discharge for about 10 to 15 minutes as well as then restart your phone and try it once more you can also try unplugging your router to while you’re at it and leaving that for 5 to 10 minutes and then plug it back in sometimes he might suffer from IP Conflicks on your net work

what happens if there are multiple bluetooth devices detected? how do i know which device is mine?

Great video, it worked perfect for me but trying to set up my wife's phone with the same instructions and her set up wouldn't work. Is there a limit to connected accounts?

I called MyQ about this and you have two chooses. 1. Use the same user account(email address) and password on both phones. 2. From your phone you can invite her as a guest, however this is a one time uses. So my wife and I use the same user and passwords on both of our phones.
Is there a way to add a password or code for opening your garage door?
What I did was on the app settings I have it set up with a fingerprint to open the garage and a 4pin code to get into my account I could have done either way but it worked… and every time you open with app the history tells you and/or other ppl on the account who done what… my gma is on the account as well it gives her satisfaction that the door is shut at night … plus with custom open/close times/days the possibilities are near impossible lol I hope this helped I know it’s been 2 months but yeah

Don't hold your breath...We're going on 4 days...customer service is useless...still not connected...and way too expensive to be so difficult...
Unfortunately mine doesn't say Wifi anywhere on it, does that mean I can't use it?
If it doesn't depending how old you can buy a adapter that will allow you to add it.

Mine refuses to connect to my Wifi Network.
You may need to split your Wi-Fi into two different networks the 5 ghz and the 2.4. then you will need to connect it to the 2.4

@@kentrobbins8773 you need to log into your router to do so. google the internet model number of your router (internet box provided by internet company) it will give you instructions how to log into it from there go into wifi and setting and make it so you have both a 2.4 ghz solution and a 5ghz solution. might be that your router is older and does not auto detect what the device connecting needs.
