MY TIP! I came across this recently & I am so glad I did as it is a lifesaver for thick fabric you can’t see your design through. I hope it helps you as much as it helps me. If the fabric is too thick to see through to your design, I would recommend using dressmakers carbon paper. You place it carbon side down on your fabric & place your design right way round on top of the carbon paper. Then use a rounded tip tool that is not sharp, or a pencil & draw over your design. Where you trace, it will transfer the design onto your fabric. When finished, start your crafting project.
The black and white on the small size, the colour on the large. Really really nice. You have inspired me to make my Christmas gift bags, no more paper.
Brenda, thank you! This is such a WONDERFUL project for Christmas gift bags - last year I made so many and they were all reused and all of my gift receivers said they loved the fabric gift bags!
Georgette, thank you so much! When you do yours, tag me on Instagram - I would love to see your creation! I think you can also do no it with the sharpies, but I think they might "bleed" more than just fabric markers.
You should definitely give it a try, especially during holiday season - you can create little fabric gift bags and personalize them with a special message... Ah, possibilities are endless 😉
Dear Sewing Friend, have you ever tried to hand letter on fabric? Let me know!
I have not but I’m glad I found this video before I started!
Thank you ❤
Great tips.
Loved the black and white!

I liked the plain black script the best (but it was hard to decide😉). Thank you for this tutorial! I didn’t know what tools (pens) to use.
Thanks! Lots of great tips, and I have one for you! To prevent smudging try placing a piece of paper under your hand when drawing 🙂 Happy creating!
Oooo, Rachael - that is a good one - thank you!

Very cool Alisa! I think I like the one with colour the best! I haven't tried writing on fabric but I'd like to sometime. This is vey helpful :)
Thank you, Rikki! Definitely give it a try, especially with your little ones - you can do some awesome gifts for grandparents and relatives!
this is great. Have you thought about offering your designs as PDF's to download and print for those of us who really cannot draw?
I love the colored one! Do you have a video for blending with fabric markers?
I like it a lot! Thanks
Thanks. Was for over 20 years a crafts person but never worked with textile.
I have never tried this. I really like the plain black.

Nice video
May I know what pens do you use? Thank you :)
Can we use just normal sketch pens?
Sujay, you can possibly but they might bleed through and... their tips will feather so much faster then the fabric pens!
Does it goes when we wash it??
With fabric markers it is there forever!
Every time I try it on cotton fabric it bleeds 😢 I want to mark cotton fabric I can make into quilts.
Both
Hey my name is also Alisa 😍😍
