Thanks - I tried to balance the lighting on the train and preserve detail in the snow on Mount Evans. I now have some large reflectors that can put more sunlight on the train on the trestle for better exposure - can't wait to get vaccinated and redo some of the video! Be well. ;-)
It is a Rio Grande Southern "Galloping Goose." They had a fleet of these - were very inexpensive to operate to deliver light cargo, passengers and mail. (The RGS was built to serve silver mines, but never paid off its construction cost due to the US switching from the silver standard to the gold standard in 1893.)
Wonderful! The locomotives, rolling stock and “borrowed “ landscape are particularly effective. Just two comments, designed to be helpful. I wanted longer segments for example to see the long train all the way round the s curve. Doubtless you were trying not to bore the viewer but the railroad is so good boredom isn’t a concern. Secondly I could live without the music. The sound systems are so good that the music is a distraction. Let me hasten to say I’m being picky. This is the best railroad I can recall seeing - I just want to see more of it! Well done.
Wow ! Who ever painted your backdrop deserves a reward ! ;-) Beautiful curves that only flex track can give. Great job. I guess it helps living in the right area ! What did you do for the roadbed?
The entire layout uses rigid Aristocraft track. Most curves use 20 ft diameter rigid track. Pavers were used on flat ground. Full cinder blocks were used in fill areas and steeper side slope areas. All pavers and blocks rest on crushed granite maybe 1/2 to 1 inch thick. Then ballast is also crushed granite to fine tune the grade and side to side level.
Hi, is it possible to get some Infos about the way you lay your tracks into so gras? How deep did you dig into the ground how do you fix the tracks and what kind of gravel you use? Thanks for any info...
I love how it blends into the garden
Very nice footage! The "real thing " in the background is fantastic, like it very much!

I'm missing Colorado now . Isn't that the Galloping Goose ? AWESOME !
Wow !!! Simply wonderful.
I love the look of this railroad. Making best use of the natural backdrop. I will really struggle to find somewhere like that here in the UK! Ha!
Far out this is amazing! Makes me want some narrow gauge stuff in my backyard!
Simply awesome!!
The greatest backdrop is nature itself :)
Wow!!! Very well done 😎👍& Hello from Milwaukee Wisconsin
Very nice! What a beautiful backdrop!
You took the word right out of my mouth, Perry... 🙃🚂👍🏻
Thank you very much!
If you are going to the National Garden Railway Convention 2022 in Colorado, this layout will be on the tour.
Wow👌 Beautiful

I also would rather listen to the trains, or even the owner talking about his layout, than the music.
AWesome!
very cool
Wow! Loving the K-27 locomotives. 👍🇬🇧
Super awesome
That view
I want one! 😋
The union pacific big boy, or challenger steam engines would look good on this layout.

Are those locomotives custom built or only limited production? Nice job on the video too.
I checked with Bob.
"All of my loco’s were a standard purchase. Either Bachman or Accucraft"
Bob Dunlap
What manufacturers made those cars and that locomotive?
The engines are Accucraft electric/battery power. A K-36 and a K-27. About 1/2 the cars are AMS and the other 1/2 are wood kits from Hartford
@@bobdunlap8365 what’s AMS?
AMS is a company owned by Accucraft. They are mostly plastic rr cars
@@bobdunlap8365 oh ok nice
These no scenery quite like the real thing
