You know if you’re comparing songs, maybe you shouldn’t overlay the two on top of each other making the old version harder to hear especially if you’re using footage where that old isn’t it in the best audio quality.
I know, I've progressively gotten better at this whole "making stuff" thing since uploading this and intend to redo this video eventually. Thank you for pointing it out so that I can do better in the future ^^

I've prefered beta version in final game
The reason why they played this song in a lower pitch like this likely cause of the jazz band, the higher pitch might have been difficult for some of the instruments, I could be wrong though. As for the melody itself, yeah it’s just like the beta
This song is played in B flat, which is the base scale for most wind instruments. The original has it in C major, which is a hard chord to play with wind instruments
So that's why it had a different pitch.
Because high C is very hard to play for horn instruments
You did not showcase it well on this video... You should have played the beta version by itself, not overlay it on top of the MK8 version.

@@lukraniom8731that's a thing that always happens when you switch to a key you're not used to hearing that song in. It's an illusion. Try it with basically any other song, with any pitch (not too high or too low for obvious reasons). It's also why people still listen to nightcore/slowed+reverb music even when the original piece was written by an already genius composer

This wasn’t well explained.
Basically, the beginning of the melody in Mario Kart 8’s version is slightly different, as it has a bit that doesn’t exist in the GBA final version. However, it exists in the beta version. The beta version is still very much the same music, it’s just slightly different in the beginning. There really isn’t anything “off” about the Mario Kart 8 version. I always found it to be a different take of the same overall music, even without the knowledge of the beta version.
And yes, the Mario Kart 8 version is in a different key, key of B-flat, instead of C. That’s likely because of the horn section from the band being able to read the music easier. B-flat is a very easy key for brass/horn players, and it’s also pitched a whole step down, making higher notes slightly easier to reach.

And just last year they just brought back both GBA Luigi and Peach Circuit to Mario Kart Tour and remade the original GBA circuit theme instead just like DS.
