Doing maintenance ahead of time is smart. I changed the oil in my E90 for the 500th time, but this time I didn't tighten up the oil filter housing enough and oil squirted past the o ring and killed the alternator. Glad I was in town and close to home.

I went to Jalisco Mexico from Virginia. Close to 5k miles round trip. I did an oil change before and when I arrived in Mexico.
2016 340i with 80k miles. Also brought a full size spare with me.

Good tips on doing the prep well before a road trip. I have a road trip planned soon as well and I usually do everything a 3 weeks before the trip.

I literally just started a ~2K mile road trip with my F30 and legit brought the same exact stuff with me just in case (even down to the same full sized spare) . Great video bro!!
How do you decide which tire to carry as a spare if you have staggered wheels? Do your cars not have staggered wheels?
@@love2huntbooks2 My F32 had staggered wheels Since it was xdrive, both the front and rear were the same rolling diameter. I just would make sure the spare also had the same rolling diameter.
Turtlewax hybrid ceramic wax works really well on glass. I don't even need wipers when going 70 and above.

Drove my e91 to Georgia from chicago. Would’ve been nice to get new tires on the front but didnt have time and had to leave; I’ll be getting those down here. No problems except transfer case is messing up so i removed the fuse for it and currently in RWD and no cruise control so that sucked.
I love this car but it made me fall in love with the m340i I and that’s my dream car this car is sexy it’s what made me get into bmw not even a true m car but the 340i just the style everything about it inside and out and the m340i the interior is stunning

The spare wheel should have something protective under it to protect the lining of the box from getting dirty

Nice video. How much difference does that strut bar make? And how’s the clearance at the DME cover, it seems some people have to cut it to make it work with that unit (Wiechers Aluminum)
It seems to have tightened up the steering but I installed it only weeks after buying the car so I vaguely remember how it felt without it. Maybe I can try driving without it now and see if I can feel the difference. I Didn’t have any fitment issues over my B58. Didn’t have to cut anything to make room.
I noticed you dropped a spare tire in your boot. Does your car come with staggered wheels? If so, which size do you carry as the spare?
About 650 miles each way? Shoot… that’s less than a day’s drive for me! 😉☺️ I did between 700 & 750 in my 535i F10. Haven’t taken our 540i G30 on a road trip yet, but can’t wait to go somewhere!

Hey juatin, i have a 2018 330, it has lci lights but i cant activate my side markers( Separate lights) like yours, i tries coding with bimmer code but still doesnt turn on. Any tilps plz ??

Unrelated to this video, but justin have you ever heard of code P143C, it's supposedly some auxiliary fan switch located in the lower radiator hose? I can't seem to find it. Just curious if you know of this code/have ever ran into this issue. Love the content keep it up!

@@justinbuice So to my knowledge after reading the forums the temperature sensor on the engine block and the radiator are reading different values. It hasn't come back since I've cleared the code, could of just been a one time thing, no clue!

I just drove 1300 miles with my ofhg leaking praying to god that my belt wouldn’t slip and it didn’t lol now I’m just waiting on parts so I can fix it
What method have you found best for jacking the car up for the oil change while keeping it level?
I jack up the front where my jack stands are at the lowest height so it's not too much of an angle while the oil is draining, then put the car back on the ground when filling and reading the level. Out of curiosity, I have drained the oil, then lowered the car down with the drain plug still out and no additional oil drained out after it was level.

do you think drving f30 to road trip may cause turbo/engine over heat? and may cause issue during trip
As long as everything is working properly it’s not a problem. At highway speeds there is plenty of airflow to keep the engine cool.
The only real concern would be a water pump failure which could happen on any car

I got an 18x8.5 so it will fit on both the front and rear with no issues. They are all the same rolling diameter too
