- Ayo \m/ Welcome to my new series! #budgetampsthataresick
Sick metal guitar tones can be achieved many different ways. In this series, I will put affordable gear to the test and see if it is useful for metal production. Today, I am featuring my Line 6 Spider Valve HD100. This is a 4 channel, 100 watt tube head. Check out my SWOLA130 entry later this week to hear this tone in a mix with the bass tone from my PedalboardPreampEP6 video.

I've got 2 of these amps. I just run a dual channel e.q. to tweek a little. Best amp I've ever owned. So many people talk shit about these amps but they are awesome. They don't get the respect they deserve.
Got Mine with in the First 6 months it was Available.
You’ll have to Pry it from my cold dead hands.
Lol. Really. I Love it.
So far 0 ZERO upkeep.
And I’ve had it for many years.
Don’t forget to look up how to turn on and off the overdrive and noisegate built into the amp. So many options. You can get any sound with a clean eq pedal. I own 3 and all sound a bit different. 1 hd100 2 hd100 mkii. One of them gets no feedback at all unless you turn to the speaker. I love that thing
I do not like this amp with vintage 30’s. It sounds really good with dv77 and surprisingly with a cross pattern of g12m70 and g12t75. Active pickups sound great through it. Seymour Duncan pickups you have to turn down the bass. When the tubes get old you can definitely tell because it gets lifeless and you want a new amp. Don’t fear a new set of preamp tubes will bring it back to life until you can get new power tubes and rebias. Stay away from hemp speakers with this amp. They do not jive well and make a lot of mud since the low end on this amp is not the cleanest. Definitely going to try different OD pedals and a helix type devise. Thank you for the vid.
Fear factory toneish if you had a bass under you. Very Noice.
This series was fun and educational. What is your other channel?
Glad you enjoyed it and thank you for your support. I currently have two different "series" on this channel. One that focuses on guitar amps and one that creates the entire guitar signal path with guitar pedals only.
Put the metazone through the effects loops
He just boosting the signal
Which overdrive pedal was your favorite?
MTZ 🤘🤘🤘🤘
Stay away from the insane channel.I would suggest the Rock sound with overdrive.
they actually range from $400 to $500 soooo.....
I got a 212 today for $325
a friend got one of these for free from a neighbor. it needed a new input jack. got a generic replacement but the line 6 input is attached to a pcb that had a ribbon that went into another pcb the fx built in to the amp i guess. well it turns out line 6 doesnt support the amp anymore. once the jack was chaned out it still wouldnt pass the signal through the amp. turns out the only way to use the amp it through the rear of the amp. no tone control at all just loud crap. bugerra should never have got involved. unless you are running a toop of the line multi fx unit it sounds like S%#@!!!!!!!!!
it is honestly a worthless piece of crap
TS sounded best.
Sounds like 57 mic'd to a can of bees.
