If that's a Fujitsu 'expert' engineer the company must be banned from supplying the public sector with any product or service ever again. Did he manage to remember his own name?
The barrister is trying to establish this fellow is one without the proper recollection of legal documents. Based upon what I see here I don't think that was achieved.
That man should be in Prison. But this is Great Britain so he'll be living it up for the rest of his life, while many of his victims killed themselves.
@@loclnor Ed was minister for the post office from 2010 until 2015 I think? He was asked to take action and he did nothing. I’m not blaming him for the incident, I’m blaming him for not doing anything while he was minister for the post office
At 12:07 the paragraph doesn't say he'll be relied upon to act as an expert witness. Only that Fujitsu expects him to act with the standards of skill, care and diligence of one. You could also have such a clause in the contract of whoever works in the canteen.
Most of the people appearing were chosen because they were as far away from the problem as they could get away with. I have seen this sort of legal aubterfuge before in cases. Its done to ensure that people who really know what went on are not called to give evidence.
Gives evidence, then is faced with documented evidence, then doesnt remember at all or understood it if he did see it. This liar *repeatedly* provided expert evidence in malicious prosecution of the Sub-Postmasters - not just some one-off mistake (oopsie) but unwavering testimony that the system was completely reliable and could not lose money in the accounts.... whilst it was doing so constantly and had a Fujitsu team assigned to manually go in remotely and make edits to accounts at night. We need to see Post Office executives and their lying lawyers and Fujitsu (seen here) experts doing jail time for this and heavy compensation for their victims and the families of lost victims.
Whenever a case of this nature arises, a scapegoat is always found. The scapegoat is always some lowly, overworked engineer. The higher-ups escape by blame by pinning the blame on the engineer. For Mr Jenkins to serve the role of expert witness properly, he should have been taken off his normal duties, briefed fully on his new duties, and given adequate time to dedicate himself to the tasks required. Contrary to this, Mr Jenkins was expected to concentrate mosty on his main task of designing and maintaining software with a small amount of time for court appearances on the side. In the coming days, Mr Jenkins will be hung out to dry, and those who really called the shots will slip away untouched.
Isn't about time someone other than Postmasters went to prison?
Absolutely.
But don't hold your breath. Regrettably.

What a vile group of people in positions of huge power. Absolute power corrupts, absolutely.
The people in charge who are lying through their teeth should all go to prison for what they did to all those people.

I think he thought he was being interviewed as a witness, instead of a part of the problem.
Funny that!! Nobody knew anything! Such a ack of lies and innocent people went to prison . I find it so grotesque

A Ed Davey of the Lib Dems let this happen under his watch. Why would anyone vote for his party?
Actually it happened between 1999 and 2015 - don't think you can blame Ed Davey for it all.
