2023 Harley Davidson Pan America Special - Test Ride Review

- I test ride the 2023 Harley-Davidson Pan America Special sport touring adventure motorcycle through the city and give my first impressions on how it rides and drives.
The Pan America is one of Harley's newer style bikes that takes a complete deviation from the brand's norm. A larger adventure touring bike that is built for fast highway cruising. It is a smooth ride while still giving you 150hp and almost 100ft-lb of torque. The 1250cc engine makes a ton of power and sounds great. The bike includes a grip of new technology.

Harley Davidson Demo Days in Goodyear, AZ - Авто та транспорт
Rode one last summer at a demo day. I found the ergonomics very good during the ride around town, and the controls were easy to use. I'm riding an Ultra now and am going to add an ADV bike to the garage.
Dang, i've been wanting to try one of these, I loved the BMW GS when I test drove it. I must have missed this harley demo, I know there are some going on this week in scottsale, is that true?
I own one, and the low end power is much less than a Bmw Gs, but the top end power is way faster, if You lug it to low, it will shake and shutter, just keep it in it's power band and You wont be disappointed, You talked about heat, My last bike was a Rocket3, and it would roast your right leg badly, this is hot in traffic, but not as bad as My last bike, I don't ride in town much at all.
I keep mine on third gear instead of floating it up all the way to six gear around town.
Been really looking at these the past month or so. I know the 2021-2022 bikes were notorious for scorching the rider on BOTH sides (left side due to the radiator fan blowing through on the leg, and the right side due to the exhaust & catalytic converter placement. The 2023 model year bikes, which you apparently rode, added a plastic deflector on the left side for the radiator fan heat, and a heat shield on the catalytic converter. I noticed you never complained about heat on the left side so it sounds like that deflector is working well, but you still mentioned your right leg getting uncomfortably hot twice... I wonder if there are any aftermarket answers to the exhaust heat since apparently HD can't come up with a fix on their own..
I just took a test drive on the 2023 special. After just a few miles at about 70 degrees outside, the heat from the exhaust pipe was getting uncomfortable.
15k would had been a home run with this bike. The norden is 15 or so, I venture to guess that bike will sell more then the pan America. Simply because of the cost
Looks like a VROD motor
I'd go with a GS1250 or a Triumph Tiger.
Harley is having to think outside the box to keep up with Indian.
Haha keep up with the Indian that’s funny! Matter of time before Indian goes out of business again 🤪
Indian in name only as they are just a continuum of Victory all made by Polaris.
Do not buy this bike. Nothing but problems with mine and harley refuses to buy it back. Only had it a couple of months and its been in service 4 times already for stalling out, and limp modes. Biggest regret i have to this day is buying this thing. I cant even trust it for 20 minute work commutes. And serious "adventure" riding is completely out of the question.
Which model year?
