Work visa becomes mandatory for immigrants to enter Portugal

Decree-law only applies to future situations, safeguarding requests already made
The Government will 'close' one of the residence permit doors to immigrants entering Portugal who come from countries outside the CPLP. According to the CM, articles 88 and 89 of the Foreigners Law (Law 23/2007) will be revoked in the part in which they establish a “presumption” of legal entry into the country for the granting of a residence permit to all those who “have their situation regularized with Social Security for at least 12 months”.
