This is awesome and EXACTLY what I was looking for! My chronic hamstring tightness started again but I am going to fix it early this time.

Omgsh this IS my problem! I asked my husband to help me do this test and my glutes barely did anything at all as I lifted my leg 🤦🏻‍♀️... I did the test to him and his glutes fired up every single time. I have such bad hips and now I know why. Thanks for this video 🙏🏽

Thankyou this is what my physio also wants me to do but I was struggling to “turn on” my glute/“turn off” hamstring. I’ll try this

Should we be forcefully pressing the front of our pelvis(ASIS) into the floor to help have a stable bas while activating the glute, and raising the leg? Also, my left foot tends to want to turn out anyway, is that ok?

Yes! Activating your TAs while doing this as well helps stabilize the pelvis. You are going to want to eventually have your foot straight for this but its ok to start out with a little bit of external rotation.

I can do most exercises, been riding bikes my whole life, swimming, was a very fast runner, but things like hamstring curls, or kicking my heels up & back feels like as soon as I try to activate them, its as if all I can sense is the hamstring tendon, which feels tight, prone to locking up even with no resistance, which makes me wonder if my nerve goes thru the piriformis. Many times I get nighttime leg spasms in various leg muscles, sometimes many at once, which is like a mini-hell! I hope there is a way out of this syndrome!

I usually think that some way through it can be found with the right direction. Why don’t you send in an email at info@coreexercisesolutions.com and we can see if you’d be a good fit for a session.

If my hamstrings cramp when i engage them are they weak or overworked?

This really helped my stiff strings. But why the hell does the body do this? Head injury, drugs? Unacceptable! But thanks for the fix!
