Grilled the opa and made the sauce. Sauce used regular mayo and a touch of hot thai chili sauce I hand on hand. Also diced 3 cloves of garlic. Fantastic! Will make again. Thanks.
Thank you, so much for sharing! This opah recipe is delcious! I was very nervous making it, but it turned out perfect! The Japanese crunchy garlic sauce ( Rayu) wasn't hot, as I thought it would be. It was delicious! We sprinkled extra Rayu over top of the sauce. I'm now a new subscriber....just for the recipes!
too bad i cant ANY of that stuff here LOL. ryu? sounds DELICIOUS. send me some in CT lol! im very interested in trying opah though.... seems like a greatly diverse fish and has many prep options to bring it to its fullest flavor potential/
We get our opah at Costco. (Southern California outside LA) 4 big fillets for $17. It’s fresh wild caught, not previously frozen. It’s in season now i suppose, since we just picked up a package yesterday. It was so delicious, my new favorite fish, very easy to cook. Freezes well too, which is good as there are only 2 of us.

How do you keep the sauce warm? Id tried microwaving it but it split. Best cooking technique for firm fish!
