The Japanese version is way creepier. The American version just sounds like a normal ringtone, while the Japanese one is eerie, and out of place for a ringtone. I think that's why the Japanese version is so much more powerful, it's out of place, so unmistakable.
The Japanese one has a much more creepy and "someone's watching you" feeling . The American one is just a child like toy . Creepy but not scary at all .
