I loved hearing that inspiring tribute to the indentured. It’s a pleasure to read. As the descendant of the African slaves, many of all of our language and utilities were destroyed. But we survived. Your video inspires me to do a tribute to my ancestors. Thank you
I came across this video accidently. I was totally amazed and blown away by this gem in my home country. This piece was a valuable history lesson. Thank you
Good video for students studying West Indian history. I grew up close to Avocat and my paternal grand parents were from India. Chula roti with tomatoes or baigan choka roasted in the chula is yummy
Jai SeetaRaam. Glad to know this exist in our country. A very valuable and interesting piece of our indenture History. This is so important for this new generation of children. Thank you all. A great video.
The Dal Puri must have been invented in India itself coz in Mauritius where I am from, it is made the same way as in t&t. It is so common in Mauritius, you can find it being sold by hawkers all around and it is also served during "chauthari" which is the last reception of the 4 days long weddings(also the only day non-veg is served to guests). This was so awesome to watch, the similarities are striking! One of the differences that stood out was the amount of indo-trinis having non-Indian first names. Only the Indo-Mauritians from the French colonization period have non-Indian first names(On Reunion island, which is still French, it is also common for most Indians to have christian first names but even there children are starting to get Hindu names again)
Nice to see the restoration of a place I know so well. I played there sometimes and we all called the lady "Jamunee phupu." It was great to see Rajwantee!!
Nice video,I am impressed about everything in the museum, chula ,,phooknee,,dhal ghotni etc.l have used all these things in the seventies, hope to visit trinidad one day.
