When I saw the gingerbread I thought of POS, not seeing the entire title as yet! My dad's grandmother had a gingerbread house, spoke French fluently, read bible in French. And maternal great gran from Martinique, Spoke French to my mom. Lovely to acknowledge all were made of.❤

Excellent production. Our family is from St Lucia with a bit of the French Creole mix. Indeed some wonderful aspects of our Eastern Caribbean culture is from this Catholic culture. Unfortunately it has disappeared quite quickly.

This video is very informative! My French teacher in Trinidad was a French creole young woman! She was an amazing teacher! It is so wonderful to learn about our history! Thank you 😊

This is such a well done production. Thank you so much for this, to Liz and to everyone who was involved in its production.
My granny Marie would give me stories about taking the donkey cart out to Gran Couva as a child during her Easter holidays to spend the holidays with her grandparents on the San Pedro Estate. Those Great Depression years were trying times for the everyone around the world, the de Verteuil’s in Trinidad included.

Granny didn't tell you about beatings and beheadings and mutilations going on ... shame. That was the reality

Dr Eric Williams was also French Creole he spoke the Language one of his ancestors was a minor Nobleman from France. Unfortunately his grandparents used to sell Slaves on the Duke St market in the early 1800s before it was outlawed by the British.

I find the French man's dialect sounds sort of British.
