The fact that you came to my home state without me meeting you is crazy

Great video! It’s only easy to replace aftermarket struts because they have a clip, the oem factory struts don’t have a clip you can pop off so you would have to heat up the 12 mm bolts to soften the locktite and then take them out.

Good move, and once that heavy spoiler is put on your chance of having your head flatten by the hatch and the dead struts goes down haha.

I have a 05 Celica gt and you love the badge! I'm modding it and think it would tie in super well!

Tip I have found to solve water ingress into the trunk area which happens with the Celica Gen 7: Remove side panels in trunk and the panel(s) by the rear quarter windows. Run seam sealer where the inner metal is tack welded around the rear quarter window. Also check the roof gutter rails. They can clip/pop/slide off. Sometimes underneath they can corrode. Clean rust and again add a sealant or something. Also sometimes water can get through the rear lights. Again you can seal.

That's my problem on rainy days. Sometimes the water gets in and sometimes it doesn't. I still don't understand why that is and I had to seal the sunroof and I still can't find the problem. But I found something strange In the trunk part and even with the rubber the water enters But your comment helped me understand many of the things that may be causing the problem. Thank you!!

@@isaacortiz9954 Any area where inner metal is tack welded to outer metal, it may be best to run a silicone sealer or similar along the joints. It is hidden by the interior plastic panels so it won't be seen but of course do your best to make a neat job. The quarter window is tricky as it is a tight area to work. Just take your time. But that is a main culprit. With regards to your sun roof there should be rain channels (drainage holes). These can be cleaned out with thin but stiff wire or an air compressor . Good luck.

I have a genuine TRD celica, replaced the struts with the cheapest ones I could find (think there was only 2 to chose from) and no issues. All that changes form the standart Celica and the TRD is the Interor, Rear bumper, front lower lip, Side skirts, Rear ploiler, Suspention (Struts and springs), Aloy wheels and possibly the ECU (mine has 191bhp). The genuine TRD spoiler (rear wing) is actuali very light and gives you 3 adjustent positons. all the TRD body kit was made by a company in Austria and I could'd stop notice that you are lacking the front lip, the part number is PZ402-1442-AB or you can just get any euro spec front lip from a model 2004 onwards. Let me know if you want the genuine toyota part numbers and i'll dig it up from my car.

Your celica looks amazing. You can replace the bottom part of the seat, which is very easy,4 14mm bolts from seat and 4 12mm bolts that hold the bottom part of the seat 😉

Those new struts are way too weak, get better ones. I've replaced my struts 3 times over the past 23 years on my 2001 Celica GTS. It's the most troublesome part in the whole car. Keep in mind too that in the winter they will lose pressure when it's cold and have reduced lift. Car looks great bro !

Seat Back Cover - Toyota (71074-2G311-C3)
    Cushion Cover - Toyota (71072-2G571-C1)
See if these work, left leather with airbag. Genuine parts are $$

I've tried three different sets/makes of boot struts. Each one seems to bend and slightly rub on the hatch.
    I give up 😒
And yes I did buy the correct ones
