@@1234tombaker but its not, because even when plastic degrades it doesn't disappear or decay into anything else, it just turns into micro particles of plastic, which then just dilutes either into the earth or whatever toxic landfull pit its ended up in and makes it worse tbh, as the land around it then becomes infected etc, glass its relatively inert as a material very actually well depending on what glass we are talking about. metal is just as a big of problem but metal wasnt the main component so i went for plastic. ofcourse its a grass is greener for another example but plastic very much just is a problem for how pointless some items are int reality and that is why plastic is used for such things since its so easy to produce from oil or even the cock hard corn polymer that people bang on about as a miracle which in essence is still exactly plastic and takes much more in costs for it to be recycled compared to conventional petroleum based plastics. i do get your point on energy requirements for such material but still i cant see silica sand being bad for the environment more so than re-utilising petroleum. so save the earth or pay less for everything? you cant have 2 in my opinion.

People will always throw litter on the floor and so on, so why not opt for litter that has the smallest effect on climate change, and try to recapture it before it's lost into the wider environment.
