@KLGoodman Serena is selfish. The only thing she has ever cared about is having a child. Any time she has had some sense talked into her it’s been from June. We’ve seen her moments of kindness and self-reflection be overridden every time by this want, most notably when she tries to get Nichole back despite seeing all the horrors Gilead has in store for her.
@@QueenRedRosemary June nails who Serena is when they have their face off in front of the broken Abe Lincoln statue; Serena can't love. She doesn't want a child to love, she wants a child to love her, despite her self centeredness and cruelty.
Serena wrote books saying how important something like Gilead would be to save the human race. She did think she would be special or an exception to the rules. I blame her completely as she was an assessor to the destruction of the United States Of America. Stop microfying her role in this. Yeah, the commanders kept her out of the meetings and she was shocked. Stupid woman.
I have this very weird way of thinking about her. Like logically, I know she did so many unforgivable things & doesn’t deserve to have a happy ending. But at the same time, I really do want her to be happy. (Spoilers) Even if she doesn’t deserve it, I’d be lying if I said I didn’t want her to live a happy safe life with her newborn son. I can’t wait to see how her & June are going to act once this new season comes out.
I don't know why the show tries to make me feel sorry for her. I don't. I will never feel sorry for her. She KNEW what her husband was about to do (attack Congress, the White House and the Supreme Court) and could've done something to stop it, but she instead allowed atrocities to be commited in the name of her faith. She DESERVES EVERYTHING that karma throws at her. She's as bad as her husband.
Ever wonder why when a regime takes over it takes a fuckton of innocent blood to go back? Because of that mindset. Nothing more pathetic than people that believe suffering means anything more than suffering. No one deserves anything, that's a start.
@@killbillgoodfellas If suffering is just suffering, how come those who suffer preserve the institutions that make them suffer for no other reason than to make sure that someone suffers even more than them? Why do people knowingly hurt themselves just to hurt others? Why do Trump supporters willingly support policies that will hurt them just to trigger the libs? Why do Brexit supporters want to hurt themselves just to annoy the remainers? The answer is because suffering is not equal. There will always be those who are hurt more and those who revel in that, even if they are hurt as well. I do, however, agree that an oppressive regime's supporters don't deserve to suffer - death is more than sufficient.

She certainly has one of the most complex characters on the show!
