Thank you Serena is my favorite character whatever others say. She literally flips up our thoughts really well through seasons. Since now i could say she has a certain personality disorder, I can justify 80% of her actions pouring out of her suffering that of course a normal strong woman wouldnt do like she does. I don’t see her a true villain and she did some good things out of her own interests for a woman with mental illness and got punished for some of her efforts. And I dont think she is smart and calculating as others think. If she was that kind of woman, she wouldn’t trap herself in a power driven world when she was kicked out of Gilead and accept Tuellos last offer.
First of all thank you for all of your effort to put together an outstanding and compelling argument for the SerenaJune story. Their should be a watch party before S6 drops and before everyone takes to Twitter to hate on this ship which I've boarded long ago, this video needs to be watched before negative comments get tossed out about Serena's redemption arc. Their complex dynamic is why I watched this show and they nail it every time. I loved this well done love letter. ❤
I don't necessarily ship them, but I respect everyone else's right to think what they like and like whatever ships they want. So, I respect your opinion on them as a ship! I guess Serena's 'redemption' isn't something we can fully analyze until all of season 6 is out. We don't even know if they're actually redeeming her yet! I don't personally think they're going to fully redeem her, just maybe let her do the right thing at the very end because she *wants* to and because she can, instead of doing it for herself for selfish reasons. Like I said, I fully respect your opinion though, thanks so much for watching!

Wow. I've never even see this show, except for some scenes of it on UA-cam and reading about it. And I haven't watched this entire video. But this is amazing. You painstakingly put together a two hour long video all about these two. They must have a very interesting relationship. 25:24 Serena is very beautiful while smoking and with her hair down like that. Afterward, she's looks good while cuddling June too. Haha. Serena is a beautiful woman. Here's hoping I get to watch the entirety of this series one day.
I, for the life of me, do not understand these characters' relationship. On one hand it seems kind of sisterly, on another it's abusive, on another they seem like best friends and mortal enemies, and someone on Reddit described them as having a romantic relationship (I don't see it personally) but like what is it? It's so complicated it has a thousand labels and yet none? So confusingly chatoic.
It's called trauma bonding and it's exactly as you described it! It's some sort of inexplicable bound between the abuser (Serena) and the abusee (June).
@@chloesblueAlso part of the abuse is that one minute Serena is nice to her, get hers starting to feel a bit comfortable and as soon as she does, Serena pulls the rug away and does something to traumatise her. That's what makes it even more horrendous for June. She just doesn't know if Serena is going to be "nice" or evil. It's like constant whip lash from her moodswings. Horrible way to live on the edge of the knife like that.
@@sniperbarbie8179 100% this. It creates such a weird relationship where you're always craving the crumbs of affection, so much so you start to tolerate the abuse. Humans get used to so much things, even dysfunctional, harmful situations.
It’s the kind of emotionally abusive relationship Serena has with her mother - she goes to her mom for comfort but her mom says and does such cruel things to her that it destroys her emotionally.
Can someone explain me how could June didnt tell Tuello as Serena asked for sponsorship or something to help her out from the center? Or did she really think it is the best thing for Serena to go back to the wheelers instead of finding out for sponsors? Because I do feel that June character could have done better even for her nemesis since she said she is a better christian. June is not very June here in this case imo.

Anyone else hate the way Serena says "gorls"? I mean, calling them girls to begin with, then with her particular way of saying it, just drives me nuts. Yvonne is incredible in this role, probably in my top 3 favorite characters, though in a love to hate her way.
