I don't normally like broken players at Chelsea, historically it hasn't worked out well for some.... pato, Falcao, Higuain..... but I believe Saul will come off great
His problem is that he is a tweener. He doesnt fit into any of the midfield moulds. He doesnt have the passing range nor the defensive consistency or ball retention ability to be a top class anchor DM. Not productive enough going forward to be an advanced midfielder. He's inbetween which is why they all call him "box to box". If you're in a situation like this, you will always be on the outside looking in no matter how good you are.
SPOT ON. I think however he has the ability to play as the defensive man in a double pivot. Playing in a Simeone system might have helped him but I agree, jack of all trades, master of none.
