How do you tell if it is collapsed? What I have found is the one way checkball will prevent you from being able to push the top cup down. This is because air or oil in the bottom part of the lifter.

What if a retainer pops out on one side? Im sure its bad but what does that mean?
The lifter is most likely collapse
someone probably floated the valves, or it wasnt put in right at the factory.
I’m still checking prices for adequate replacements
