What a fine collection of rocks, just waiting to show off. Thanks for taking us along. It was fun for us. I hope it was fun for you and the boys. Keep having s good time. Be happy, safe and stay healthy. 😷⚒
Funny story i found what i thought were iron meteorites on that beach years ago. Little reasearch about this location's history around 100 years ago were blacksmiths and shipyard/ warf etc. My findings turned out to be slags from these works of years passed.
Have you ever considered making a sheet of images of the most common rocks you find? It would make identification , for me especially, a whole lot easier. Love watching you and your boys picking rocks!
I'll be the first to order one, please, if you ever do it. Even a folding ,laminated pamphlet would be fantastic. I've looked for sheets specifically for your shorelines but there isn't any or they are vague. I live in Ontario but we head East every summer to be near the ocean.
Awesome finds and great idea on the competition with the boys! Amazing that you have some place like that where you can find so many varieties of stones! Thanks for sharing!
What an awesome way to spend a day; at the beach collecting rocks "competitively" as a group. That panoramic shot at the end is a great indication of how lucky you guys are to live where you do! 🏖
Loved the video and Travis topping the bucket at the last second! We were there last week and had such a great time finding SO MANY beautiful rocks!! I think the best picking was off the bridge to the right above the tide line....so much material!! Love Scots Bay!
Wow! You guys did it! Its sounds like a huge task for anybody else! And each one of the rocks you dound were gorgeous! Thats amazing! That sagenite agate you found in the beginning is anazing and i cant wait to see what tou do with that one! Its my favorite pick of the day!' thanks Jason and the boys!
U should put a script message u counted wrong he was right he had8 u have taught Travis verywell he didnt even argue when it was apparent u where wrong wgat respect sorry I'm a critic but best informative video I've seen awesome bonding GREAT JOB🎉
They're all so beautiful!! I've been a rock hound all my life and you guys inspire me to go looking more for stuff I've never found before as I have limited chances to go looking. Good job guys!
Dang, that was so enjoyable and educational. I visited Scott's Bay this summer during my NS vacation from Ontario. IT WAS AMAZING. I want to go back and stay there for at least a week next year.
There are few that resemble a heart shape. Especially the one in the very first vertical row, eighth rock ❤ Great collection! Too bad it’s so far from FL : /
Awesome video! Our family with two little ones (7 and 5) are heading to your neck of the woods in late august. (Staying near Dartmouth). We just started tumbling last year but we’re super excited to try our luck with our extremely amateur eyes. Any advice or suggestions would be greatly appreciated!
Lawrencetown beach near Dartmouth has some nice tumbling stones. Easy access for the kids. Scots Bay is about a 1.5 hour drive from Dartmouth but worth it!!
What a fantastic day for all of you. 😅 was a great idea to find that many agates in an hour, Thumbs-up👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍 💯 percent.
Me watching them taking rocks that I ignore every day thinking they are just more of things I already have: 🤯 So now im gonna get a day to just collect thing I normally ignore
i love the videos bud but one thing that drives me nuts when people do this.....just throwing them in the bucket or on another hard surface. This can fracture the interior of the stone\gem and when you go to tumble them they can break and can mean the difference between a rock😒 or A GEM 😎🕺
These rocks have been tumbled on the beach for thousands of years. This beach especially with its viloent tides. A little toss in the bucket is like falling into a pile of feathers for these little guys. I appreciate your comment and thanks for tuning in!
@@RockhoundingLife sorry bud didn't try to offend or anything, I have been a prospector and rock and mineral collector for a few 30yrs now so I'm just speaking from my experience of collecting something awesome and myself ruining it before final product by knockin them around like that that's all. I do love the videos too bud 😎 🤙
What state is this in or is this in canada. I have to get out to the beaches this year and try find some agates. The gravel pits in Minnesota won't let people in anymore, I live on north shore lake superior.
Hey fam.. Actually I visited a beach yesterday and found plenty of pink white purple stones ..I didn't had any idea what are those so I searched on UA-cam and found your video...is there any way sir I could send you the photos of those stones and let know what actually those are?? Can you help me finding what kind of stones are those 😊
We are planing on goong on a beach holiday this year and my son has just started getting into gems and stone can you give me any good websites for us to learn more about how to spot them
I wouldn't call any of those rocks gemstones. In fact, few even qualify as semiprecious stones. I regularly dig mist of those stones up in my garden. If they are big, I toss them to the fence line. I have been polishing stones for over 50 years - jade ( not serpentine ), beryl, Australian open, feldspar, smoky quartz etc, etc
@@RockhoundingLife Chalcedony is a semi-precious variety of druzy quartz. If it was light blue and translucent ( gemmy ), I would call it chalcedony. The red-brown jasper is just a common rock. I have lots of it in my back yard. When polished it is less attractive than the serpentine many people confuse with nephrite jade. There are a lot of interesting agates on most beaches..
I really enjoy watching your videos and learning about these "little treasures" Thank you for sharing with all of us. The boys really enjoy Rock Hounding with you. Pure Joy! Be safe! ❤❤❤
Seems kind of ridiculous to look at these stones and say how beautiful they are and then drop them three or four feet from down into a bucket so they can Crash & smash the other stones that are already in it

Best rockhounding video I've seen in a long time! Be blessed boy's and have a cool 😎 summer.
Amazing beach I need to get out there! 😮
Travis fills the bucket with only seconds to spare! 🎉
Fire up the tumbler! Can't wait to see the rocks shined up or made into cabs!
Fantastic video!

Coming soon!
They are so gummy! Don’t drop them they are precious!
Lots of treasures in that beach!

I always loved looking closely at rocks. The colors and shapes in them are amazing! Mom didn't like them coming out of my pockets in the washer!😆
Thank you! Cheers!

@@RockhoundingLifewhat's a connifer dude? thought it was a type of tree?! 😂
@@jimmymcgill2557 It is. The red rocks in this video are fragments of a larger limbcast that was a conifer type tree from the Jurassic period.
Travis for the win!! Great finds guys. I really enjoyed the video and I learned a lot. TY!
Glad you enjoyed it
Old disabled house bound dusty rusty rockhound here: That was so much fun!
That was so fun! My heart was pumping at the last minute haha! High fives🙌 and nice finds you guys! 💫
Thanks Marlaina!!!! Yeah..we had some fun with it!!! Haha!
Good hunt. I think it's funny you added the "slot machine ding" for every rock you dropped in the bucket.
Sometimes you have to spice it up!
Thats a super cool mission and some awesome gems collected
Great job guys! Bunch of beauties!! ❤

Needs more cowbell, hahaha!!
🤣 i've got a fever, and the only prescription is more cowbell!
3:30 look for the bounce out of the bucket. Is that why your count is off by 1?
That's so fun!!! Great challenge. The boys have got the gift of finding amazing rocks.

Yeah. I made some stone for jewelry.
How marvellous. Great video, thank you. Wonder if any UK beaches wash up gemstones? Doubtful but if anyone knows please reply x
If the beaches host volcanic rocks then there is a good chance!
Love your videos! Could you do a video on the tools you use?
Thanks! We make videos using our machines regularly. Check out our past videos. We have multiple videos on each machine we use.

Over 80% of these rocks are jasper and chalcedony which both are classified as semi precious gemstones.

They are not glass LOL. Its silica. One of the hardest things on earth....literally.
True, the only thing that can damage them is something as hard or harder then them..
