Visiting The Lynton & Barnstaple Railway July 2019

- Spent a day at The Lynton & Barnstaple Railway back in July. This narrow gauge line currently runs from Woody Bay station to Killington Lane in North Devon. It's well worth a visit to ride along this short line and also to see and support the work that is going on here. Woody Bay is the highest station above sea level in Southern England, and the breeze was fairly strong when I visited, so apologies for poor sound quality at times.

I loved the video. Super photography and what a photogenic little railway amid lovely countryside. And what a gruff exhaust beat from Isaac. Terrific all round.
Thank you for your kind comments. I'm glad you enjoyed it. It was a great find on our Summer holiday summer. There's always something rather special about the very small railways, and this is no exception.
Wow! Beautiful video in a beautiful area with beautiful trains! I'll have to pay a visit next Summer. Thanks for posting.
Thank you. It's lovely there, well worth the journey!
Dear Hilary
Such a nice place to be on a lovely summer's day.I've not been to Exmoor for quite a few years but will definitely try to get there next year to visit the L&B.
It's well worth it, Michael. The small railways need support as much as the large ones.
Thank you for sharing this lovely film with us. Nice channel too by the way. Subbed! Appreciatively, Germany.
Thank you, Philip. I’m glad you enjoyed it. Thank you for the sub. 😊Hilary
No problem Hilary , quite a pleasant change , from the standard gauge , and yes , if i have enough money in 2020 , I'll be paying a visit ( first time in 70 yrs ) , got some sites to see and people to meet , ( and maybe You ) ?
Danny Gayler Save up your pennies, Danny!
Nice range of shots considering the limited scope of this small site, thanks Hils, I must try and get there next year.
It's well worth a visit, Roger. The cafe was good too, so it turned into a longer visit than first intended!
Lovely video Hilary :)
Thank you, Simon.
That's some gorgeous coach stock! Wonderful place that I still haven't been to yet. :-)
Sammy B Films Yes, it is rather lovely. Well worth a visit if you can get there. 😊 Hilary
It looks a beautiful setting Hilary, a great film of this narrow gauge :)
Thank you Brian. It is a lovely part of the country. I'm a big fan of Devon!
Watching a video of this quality-how can anyone owning a piece of the trackbed (which has not yet been reopened) fail to give it up when asked?!
If I owned some, I'd be only too glad to have steam running over my land! Sorry for late reply - I've discovered a lot of messages that I can't see when on UA-cam on my phone. I wasn't meaning to ignore you! :-) Hilary
I thought ''Isaac'' looked like ''Lyn'' or ''Lyd''
TheExtremeAnimator Pretty similar I think. I’m not really an expert though!
