I remember the ball hit beckham's face in the first half, but I didn't find the moment.

Manchester United did something no other British club did: win the Intercontinental Cup against a Brazilian side. Not even Bob Paisley's or Joe Fagan's Liverpool didn't win a single world title.
Not just Brazilian sides though. For the British clubs the records were not great before this United win. 1967 Racing Club of Argentina beat Celtic, in 1968 Estudiantes of Argentina beat Manchester United, in 1980 Nacional of Uruguay beat Nottingham Forest, in 1981 Flamengo of Brazil beat Liverpool, in 1982 Peñarol of Uruguay beat Aston Villa, in 1984 Independiente of Argentina beat Liverpool, took until this game in 1999 for a British team to beat a South American side in the Intercontinental Cup, since then ofcourse the records are still not that great for British clubs as Liverpool in 2005 once again lost to a Brazilian side Sao Paulo to lose in the Club World Cup, but Manchester United won again in 2008 against Ecuadorian side LDU Quito. And the last game between a British team and a South American team in a competition was Chelsea vs Corinthians in 2012, which Chelsea lost 1-0. This makes for a poor statistic for British teams, 10 games in an Intercontinental Cup/Club World Cup tie, 2 wins for a British team and 8 wins for a South American team, making Manchester United the only British team to ever win.
Huh. Ole Gunner started in place of Dwight Yorke. Interesting.........
probably cause of that goal, Fergie must have loved him for that whole year just for equalising against Bayern Munich. But Solskjaer was really good too though, but yh Yorke was better.

Palmeiras não tem Mundial !
Mas este torneio, embora seja considerado como "Mundial", mas é Intercontinental. Porém, não deixa de ser emocionante e muito marcante pelo prestígio do vencedor.
