I agree, l love a good meat pie and am Australian and in my 45 years on this earth I have never seen a pie like this ever. It's a gross misrepresentation of what an Aussie pie is. For anyone visiting I highly recommend cj's bakery for pies ,especially the steak tomato and onion, it even has real steak chunks, slow cooked that melts in your mouth. Never had a bit of gristle either that you get with inferior pies. What is shown here is disgusting he should be ashamed of himself ,Aussie my butt.

the waitress from number 3 is so nice and sweet she told the owner how bad the spaghetti was when one of the chefs who cared about feedback whether it is good or not, she explained it again without questioning.
I appreciate the fact that the one cook was willing to take the feedback and actually listened, and also that the waitress was willing to explain it in the same tone and wording. Great exchange

It always amazes me how these people call Ramsay in to save their failing restaurants, then insist that their food is delicious and there's nothing wrong with it. Hello- do you want his help or not?

It always bothered me so i guess its a compination of real need and of some acting to make the show more interesting
I'm sure some of it is just exaggerated for TV.
Pretty sure thhere's some exaggeration here and there, but... Well, we have owners who, after months or years of their restaurant not working and not being able to pinpoint their problem, are asking for help because they cannot realize what's wrong. Keeping that in mind, you can begin to understand their surprise when chef Ramsay comes and tells them "hey, this is fucking shit, wake up".
I feel like the staff call if they feel like the place they work at is bad, then he comes in and asks the owners to do a show. I'm not sure, though.

He's also got old timey rules concerning women. He's less brutal towards them, likely due to his closeness to his mother.

Gordon usually goes after food restaurants tend to “cheat“ on like ravioli and lobster and classics that should be done right like filet minion, crab cakes, french onion soup or pizza.
He also likes to add an oddball where it's very clear it's going to be bad.
His choices are very calculated.

I also think the producers tell him what the oddball should be, a special that's absurd or a special that hasn't changed in ages. It's very interesting.
There was one time Gordon gave a restaurant 20 mins to cook the entire menu.
He came back to see 100+ plates piled for him to eat.
It's to prove his point that menus should be a few dishes cooked to perfection rather than lots of dishes poorly prepared.

No matter how many of these kitchen nightmares I watch, im always so pleased to see Gordon treat the waitresses with respect. I dont think hes ever swore or yelled at one before. Always says "thank you darling" or "could you please get/tell customers (blank) for me". Kinda refreshing and just shows how much he understands that its not their fault.
