Digitech drop Review for Bass

- This is a review of the Digitech Drop pedal for anyone who wants to know how it behaves with bass. Please note that the pedal itself is not noisy, my pickups are - particularly when within about 3 feet of my computer monitors.
Appreciate the video Chris, looking at this pedal to potentially replace carrying an extra downtuned bass.. band plays half step down.. do you feel this is up to the task?

As a guitarist, I used this for a few weeks and then the effect got added to my modelling processor in a firmware update. Our bass player used one for this exact reason very successfully. The bass player for my other band just got one! Haven't had a chance to rehearse yet with it though.
I'm using this pedal with my bass guitar. While I do like the pedal, I find that my g string sounds a bit odd through the drop tune. It's almost like it's got a chorus effect on it, like two strings are playing at once. On my low E or A string, I find it works great, but when i hit that higher string, it just sounds odd to me. I've played it though 4 bases, active and passive pickups, different strings, and all 4 instruments have that same chorus type of effect.
Did you notice that too? I wonder too if it's also because I can hear that string ring out a bit more than the others on the bass and the combination of the standard tuning on the bass coupled with the dropped note on the amp at relatively low volumes is playing with my head. I have tested it with my boss tuner and it reads properly when played.
Is there a reason why mine sounds like an octave pedal? Im getting an octave higher overtone.
