Chevys are prettier, and made for a gentleman in the first place. But whichever you have, the talent of the mechanic/body man who builds it is the equalizer. If you're on the farm, the Ford's front tires help steer and stay more flat and even with terrain without getting stuck. On the street, the GM A-arms handle feel and steer better. A Ford I beam is corrected with a Branick device. A GM, the shims provide the angles... Unless they fall out. And that's up to you to rebuild a better truck or ask for help.
For the twin I beam generation, bump sides, etc....those are veru nice trucks, true they are hard t find, but that suspension is terrible, the way the suspension moves with that camber on the wheels, chew up your tires. And also is quite unstable. The Chevy suspension is far more stable and easier to modify if you want to lift it. The fact they are harder to find do not make them better.
I will take a 56 Ford any day of the week and put a 429 in it weather for Speed old school brother 4/29 never got the recognition they deserve especially the c9ae which was an interceptor smoke any hot rod Chevy back in the muscle car days
