Thanks David! Just today I was messing around with some Gutenberg blocks and the way to use dynamic data … find useful with pods shortcodes I can use almost any Gutenberg block packages, but GP blocks make these more clean line of work … also I’m working on my own block theme with FSE … so these is a really greate combo !!! Thanks
@@DavidMcCan I ran into one issue: when I use Current Post - Post Date as you did it displays fine but if I use Post Type - ACF CPT - Post Meta post_date to dispay ACF date picker value, it always shows as YYYYMMDD format. ACF lets me format it in the editor but not on the frontend. Any ideas or suggestions to get it to display as Month, Day, Year?
@@EricThomson - When you create the field in ACF there are options for Display Format and Return Format. I just tried setting them both to the F j, Y option and it showed as expected on the front. Maybe check there.
@@DavidMcCan thanks. At least I know that it should work! Maybe include it in a future video. I tried creating a new local environment WP 6.1.1 + Bright Mode theme, created CPT books, ACF field: publish_date (both FjY) and created template Custom Book with Container > Headline (Post Type, Books, Post Meta, publish_date and updated Book to use template, but still 20221212. Oh well.
Another useful and informative video, David. Recently found myself divided between using Kadence (my previous favourite “tech stack”) and Generate Press + Generate Blocks. I am currently experimenting with a staging site using GP/GB to replace a Kadence built site. 👍
As blocks go, the Container, Grid, and Query Loop of GB are very nice. I'm finding the Kadence Row Layout block has gotten a bit more difficult to use. Kadence is reworking their blocks plugins that should be ready before too long. I'm curious to see what that looks like.
Excellent, you were way ahead of me but excellent.
Man, you're rocks! Thank You for your course !!! I've learned so much!!!

Awesome work, David! I'm really excited for FSE, and want to keep my eye on it... I'm just not convinced I'm ready quite yet.
Thanks Kyle. Its getting closer. I have one simple social / bio site that is FSE. The global style options of theme.json are evolving very slowly.
Thanks, Dave this is exactly what I have been trying to figure out.
I'm glad it was helpful.

Wow, impressive (I'm another Kadence user). Great video!
Thank you.
Can you make an updated tutorial for new GB and GP Pro versions with new fefatures and with ACF Pro ?
That's on my list, but I can't get to it right away.

@@DavidMcCan I agree. There is certainly something to be said for the simplicity but flexibility of the GenerateBlocks. I am impressed!
Nice job, could you have made the read more link with the GB Button block? I need to test this out.
Yes, I tried that and it worked.
What Theme you used in the tutorial
The Bright Mode theme. wordpress.org/themes/bright-mode/
04:20 Hi David, why are there "locked signs" at the grid and the post template? What is "locked" ... by whom?
This is a newish feature of Gutenberg to keep one from accidently moving or changing something. You can click on the lock icon to unlock them.
@@DavidMcCanAh, Ok! Thank you! Amazing tutorial btw!
@@fanofcameron - Thank you

Very good - keep up your awesome work 🌟👑!!

Why do you show only the book layout? Try something else more common
