- Keep Tomorrow For Me by Heatwave is the end title song from Escape to Athena - a 1979 British adventure comedy war film starring Roger Moore, Telly Savalas, David Niven, Stefanie Powers, Claudia Cardinale, Richard Roundtree, Sonny Bono and Elliott Gould - produced by ITC Entertainment and distributed by Associated Film Distribution.
Written by Barry Blue and Rod Temperton, this song can’t be found on any Heatwave album and, as far as I’m aware, never had a commercial release - which is a shame as it’s such a great tune. The only versions I could find have been taken from the film’s end credits and are fairly low quality, so I thought it could with a bit of C&T TLC!
This mix also includes a rare instrumental version (not sure how this came about?) which I found on UA-cam and added to the original song, so it’s not only a remix - but an EXTENDED remix!

It's hard to put into words, but if you close your eyes while listening to this song, it's like a glowing warm sunny sensation filled with positivity.
Heatwave saved my life. Two years ago, I was put out of work because of Covid. Things were bad enough after several failed relationships, and the loss of my father on Christmas Day 2016. I was close to taking my own life by overdose, until I heard this song. The more I played it, the more positive I became.
Now, I'm in a steady job, with a strong relationship. Time sadly cannot replace my dad. But my memories of him are forever cherished ones.

I caught the movie on cable one day when I was in high school and really liked it. When the end credits came I LOVED IT!!! I remeber those beautiful helicopter shots of all the Greek churches at the end with this playing over it. It took me three years to find the soundtrack which was only available from Japan and cost me over thirty bucks in 1982 money! I still have that vinyl album.

This is a great song! Could have been a huge hit if they it had a wider release.

It was only released as part of the soundtrack of the film on Japanese vinyl. I lifted this recording from the LP.

Great work extending the track. I wish it had a bid more low. You can barely feel the bass, which I think is a big part of soul music like Heatwave's. Also, is it possible for you to post a version without the added drum beat on top? Or is there a technical necessity for having that? Like hiding cracks in the original available version.
Thanks. The source material I had to work with was very low quality (and mono), so the added beats were necessary to fill it out a bit. I’ve also added more brass and guitar to help turn it into stereo, but I didn’t want to change it too much. You can find the original source music on UA-cam without the beats etc (this is what I used to create this mix).
