I bet there was a guy on the shore, walking his dog who sails now and again, thinking "How TF does he get planing in NO WIND? Is that one of those battery powered boards?"!!
well, the boards are really different... much wider, easier to jibe, more power, and they ride more over the fin, that's not to say boards from the 90s weren't fast, I think they were just harder to get there ;) I tried a Fanatic Bee and a Sunset Race last year, they are both fast, but harder to jibe and need more wind to get going...
Hi Nils. Thanks for your "first impressions" - nice and interesting. Question: wondering how strong was the wind in the gusts? Any idea? And which fin did you use?

as a windsurfer from the 90s, i just cannot get on with the new fat boards, just seem wrong. Are they really much better?

on the gusts maybe 12-14 knots... 46cm soft fin
What fin did you use?
What mast you rig? Duotone? north?
Duotone Platinum, but in this video mast hasn't arrived yet, so old mast...
@@WindsurfingNils indestructible mast...... work perfect
tbh i liked the past years sail coloring more
hm, new warp looks like girls edition, totaly not liking the design^^ and why is the sail so buckled? not yet "settled" in, too new?
I really like the ''girly'' design^^ no they are intentionally made like that, the sail will settle a bit and the buckles disappear when in action.
