Yes, early on I thought they were paying too much attention to his sob story. In his last 2 performances they focussed on his actual act, and he definitely improved a lot. I dont see him winning, but I think he has a good shot at the top 3.

@@jambow2904 After relistening to the beginning a few times, the intonation does feel slightly sharp, especially after 12 seconds. Also, yes, electric violin is a lot easier, since you don't really have to worry about creating a good sound quality as much when playing. He is pretty amateur in his playing, but I have come to expect that in American's talent show. I usually don't see any talent among nearly all AGT violin players.
I truly hope he wins. He is beyond amazing

I’ve never seen such talent like it took me a month just to learn twinkle twinkle little star on the violin and he’s just playing and hitting every note flawlessly
I mean, they're either first position notes or repeating higher position notes. There's not that much skill required to do that.
