@@retrosuperheroart2202 oopsies happen to the best of us lol. Kirby himself was surprised when Stan Lee picked Buscema to do the initial Silver Surfer run, considering he had created the character. John tells a funny story about issue 4 where Stan Lee initially hated it and berated him over it, only to call him years later to tell him it was the best thing they ever did together, lol.

Just a little heads up on that GEN 13 cover it actually wasn’t J. Scott Campbell who did that cover. It was actually another phenomenal artist by the name of Ed Benes who drew the homage cover and I really like how his art style is very clean, dynamic, and elegant. Plus that iron fist, and drawing from Eli looked very professional and I wonder what and when the next challenge might be?

Oh, boy.. this video is turning out to be 'find the 10 mistakes' ... lol
Next challenge has been sent! Hope you like it. And yeah, the participants are knocking it out of the park.

@@retrosuperheroart2202 Thanks although I gotta say with my art style, I am actually wanting to incorporate a little bit of Michael Turner into that artistic gumbo of David Finch, Greg Capullo, Joe Quesada, Todd McFarlane, and Bart Sears in order to give it a more cleaner less is more type of look. By the way, if you ever do get back into analyzing specific artist, maybe you might be interested in taking a look at Ed Benes?

@@cobenhumphrey6972 Yes sir! You have good taste. I wasn't familiar with him back then (as you noticed..lol) might be a cool artist to do a comparison video with, old-'new'. My idea list is ever growing, and then I sit at my desk in the evening and just want to make another Liefeld video.. hahaha

I am a huge fan of homage covers and also a huge fan of homage posters to movies as well also it's a fun idea to do this is the best idea i ever heard and see this is why i love art also do anyone do a homage to the poster for Better Off Dead (1985) (the original theatrical poster by the artist you know the name of Retro that i show to you) it's one of the film from the 80s like the John Hughes's films should anyone make a homage to the film's posters also Retro would anyone like to do a homage to the Better Off Dead poster this film star John Cusack who is in the film Say Anything the one he hold a boombox over his head in that movie you should do some art with that pose from that film its iconic also great video on homage covers i love these kinds of covers.

Yeah, it's a double strike when the art is good and the reference is well known. You instantly get a connection with the art. If you want I can draw an homage cover for you if you go to my commission page ;-) (link in the description)
