Herbie Island for sure. I just built there for the first time very recently and it is perfect. Plenty of wood, stone, berries, metal, thatch. Great bay for water dinos. Just put up a couple gates in the water and wall off water entrance. I put up my main base on the right side peninsula and only put up a behemoth gate to keep the wild dinos from walking in all over my stuff. Love that spot. I have also built on the waterfall spot by red ob.
Thanks for this series, my kids and I are really enjoying it and barely a day goes by without them asking, "can we watch a Cheese video?" We vote for the Hidden Lake as the location for the new base, looks like an awesome location.

There's also a good amount of metal that spawns on Herbi Island. I set up a single player base there as basically a metal farm, then raft it all back to my main fortress base on Weathertop
I would take a guided tour of that last base with the builder to hear about the struggles of building it and history of why things were added, like a castle tour IRL.
Glad you enjoyed the build. I had mostly fun on this. With no clip and no foundation support there was no real struggle with the normal base. Now for the dragonhead .... lets just say scuplting in ark is a little different than normal building
I think number 4 is great, it looks amazing and you have plenty of resources close to the base, I was thinking that if you didn't want to build in the same place you've already built you could make it closer to the snow, beside the waterfall, you would just have to build a pretty strong wall to protect you from the T-rexs and stuff but I think it would be great.
I vote for Herbi island, so you can finally enjoy it :) just make sure not to block the metal spawns, otherwise you have to fly long distances to get decent amounts of metal.

Absolutely love that stone henge build. Im basing there right now in my single player game and would love to build something that looks like that. But even with flying round in creative mode building in this game can be kinda finicky and frustrating lol
I started my solo game on Herbie island and became overrun with brontos...and accidentally hit one and all hell broke loose...so watch for that if you build in the horseshoe. I recommend building a floating base on a raft and keep it in the cove...😂
#5 reminds me of the pirate town I made in Conan Exiles.. started out with a pirate ship, dock, and some huts and ramps on a cliff.. ended up with a massive treehouse, complete with diving board people would spend all day climbing up and dropping off of. A beach tavern with a “pirate ship” roof, 4 other ships at the port, base fully stocked with thralls. I got a lot of compliments that my city was better than the in game cities the developers made.
I love my cliff base! It was my "4th" (third never worked out sooo) but I love the spawns in the area. Resources near by ish for some things. Food and water. I started destroying all my other bases since moving in completely
the second spot is the best i guess since it's 100% safe so u won't have to worry abt anything that can attack u and also it's full of water so u will have easy sea dino and it's huge island as well

Not the first one there are so many sarco’s and SO MANY raptors. And the 2th “herbivore island” you cant spawn there. The 6th has always one sarco around so be carefull, its still a great spot.

When was the last time you checked on your anky? Poor guy just sitting all alone in the dark lol
My suggestion is on Death Beach right on the NW corner of the map, not quite near where the chaos occurs but close. I tamed a Level 174 Tek Rex there.
2nd Base Location, Herbivore island seems like an awesome place for a base.
I actually picked 3 of those for my own builds just by happenstance. The two I didn't are Herbivore Island and Stonehenge.
So I'll vote Stonehenge.
I'd love to see what else you could build at #4, besides the Wizard Tower.
