The Q4, Q6 and Q8 e-tron are the electric models whereas the others are combustion engine models.
We have Q7 and Q8 as sporty S versions in a direct comparison and also the Q8 facelift with slight changes and in a different environment so you can directly compare that. Exciting also to compare the large EVs now, the newer Q6 and existing Q8 e-tron. So which Audi SUV would you pick, and why? The Audi Q2 is on the one hand kinda dated and does not offer anything fancy. But it simply delivers as a city SUV and you can make a good deal for a small premium SUV. Although it is the smallest, it already offers decent seating comfort. The Q3 could be a sweet spot if you want something more modern but don't want to get too big. The Q4 is the sibling of the VW ID4 and honestly doesn't feel so much Audi alike, for the price it also doesn't offer anything special where it could be better than a Tesla Model Y. The Audi Q5 is very successful, meanwhile lacks a little behind especially to the Mercedes GLC. The Audi Q6 etron is the best EV in the lineup as for all electric facts and figures and it is more or less a Porsche since the car was developed alongside the all-new electric Macan. The Audi Q7 and Q8 are the classic big SUVs and they simply deliver the comfort and and the classiness you expect from them. If Q7 or Q8, that’s a question just if you need the extra space in the Q7, other than that they are pretty similar. The Q8 e-tron is a lovely vehicle in design and the drive, but it just lacks the efficiency and range you can expect from an electric SUV, the Q6 will push it from the market unless you get a special deal. What would I do? If I want a small SUV that suits parking spots I d honestly take a Q2 to have the Audi experience already in a small vehicle or go for a Q8 to get the comfort and exclusive experience, so my choices are at the end of the spectrum this time each. Agree with you 100%. Not a fan of SUV coupes; however, the Q3 is by far the best looking SUV coupe… Danke/Cheers, B
Q2 is being discontinued, Q5 will be replaced this year, Q7 is nearly 10 years old, the Q8 eTron is a re-hash of a EV that was arguably dated 4-5 years ago when it came out. I am hoping the next gen models coming out will lay off the German obsession with piano black, haptic buttons and touch screens….but not hopeful. (The reviews were as ever really good tho).
You should be happy with what we have, the Q6 is going all screens with huge infotainment and climate integrated, passenger screen etc.

I actually testdrove a Q5 recently and decided it will be my next vehicle over its direct competitors from Lexus / BMW etc. While it wasn't the best in class in all aspects it was the absolute perfect balance of driving, looks, comfort and fun.

I agree, I test drove the x3 and porshe macan t and I was impressed with the 45 tfsi q5 sline. To me the q5 was the best all-rounder.
One thing about all Audis have in common is that they are all the most expensive to their competitors(other than the q3). The q2 is 56k, while gla 42k. Q2 etron is 60k while the model y is 40k and eqa is 50k, macan is 54k. The q3 is 62k while x1 is 65k and glb is 59k. Q4 is 79k while ix3 is 44k and model x is 67k and macan e is 75k. Q5 is 68k while the x3 is 49k and the glc is also 49k. Q6 etron is 116k while the eqe is 87k and the ix is 74k. Q7 is 105k while x5 is 79k and gle is also 79k. Q8 is 120k while x6 is 84k and gle coupe is 87k. Q8 etron is 160k while the eqs is 145k. (I drive a bmw m5 comp matte black 2022 and a cayenne s hybrid pebble grey 2024) so overpriced Audis

I agree that are overpriced, but your comparison are off. If you compare similar engines with same specs are more or less identical with Mercedes and BMW.
What about the plastic look?
At first glance, it may appear that Audi is more expensive but they include many features that the other brands have made options. A similarly equipped Q7, GLE and X5, are also very similar in price in the final analysis.
The Q3 Sportback is the best option, you're gonna get the most value for your money. My dream car, it has everything, future-proof. That said, not gonna be fooled, so when the price goes around the 55.000€ mark I'll proceed. Anyways, production for the all-new fully-electric RSQ3 Sportback model is on and I hope they release it to the market as of 2025 onwards.
I'm not necessarily into SUVs, but if I were to get one, it would probably be an SQ5 or SQ7. Classy and understated.

I agree with you Thomas when it comes to reason and Audi EV's, I would definitely choose the Q6 but when I use my heart, which I probably do too often, the beauty and how it drives, Q8 e-tron wins.
But I should probably declare myself as a blatant Audi fan, who owns a Q8 e-tron 55 and already has placed an order for a Q6 e-tron, which I will leave for my wife so I can have my Q8 for myself. I don't want to share...!

Other than the obsession with “animal skins” (which I highly prefer for many reasons), very good reviews and comparisons.
Thank you very much for your interest in this topic. I also bought cars with animal skin leather seats before I did my research and got to know the industry. The most important thing is: With today's modern materials, you have nothing to lose, just to gain. You achieve the same kind of luxury and comfort or even better while having the same or better durability with less impact on humans, animals and the environment.
You can use fabric/cloth, microfibre or leatherette. The classic approach is using oil/plastic as source material. Overall, a vehicle contains about 300 kg plastic. A car seat needs about 5 kg plastic. So the overall plastic share for the seats is very low and it is at this moment the most efficient way to produce a car seat. A couple of litres of fuel equals a car seat basically. So if you want to save oil/plastic, rather look at consumption for energy, fuel and heating and to other car parts than the seat. Note that animal skin leather also always contains a plastic coating for durability. However, long-term we should of course find raw oil alternatives. So going further, seats can be made from recyclables (e.g. from PET-bottles or old fishing nets) or even increased share of plant-based materials (like pine oil, canola oil or start-up materials like Pinatex from pineapple leaves or Desertex from cactus fibre or the mixed-plant-based Mirum, so be seen at ua-cam.com/video/S1aNZeoatmE/v-deo.html). On a calculation base, by ditching animal skin leather from car interiors, the amount of emissions (CO2e) is reduced by 85 (!) % (www.press.bmwgroup.com/africa-dom-easteurope/article/detail/T0403389EN/on-the-market-from-2023:-bmw-and-mini-models-with-vegan-interiors?language=en) - and that is a very conservative calculation. So it is at this moment the most important thing you can do to make car interiors more sustainable.

In a high animal skin grade, the animals are specifically raised for this matter. However even if meat is the "first" misuse case, the hide remains a profitable body part. That means: If manufacturers put animal leather in a car and you demand it as a customer, you give your money to an industry that earns money by oppressing humans, animals and harms the environment, you make them more profitable. Alternatively, you could support industries with your wallet which try to improve the sustainability of materials. Also, if you turn the argument around to "meat is the waste of the leather industry" you realize that it doesn't make sense (and is ethically doubtful) to discuss the primary use of individual body parts of mammals. Mind experiment: You are getting slain down on the street; would it matter to you if it was for your smartphone or for your purse? Remember that animal skin leather is no different to fur, fur is just leather where the hair is still on. And fur is widely not accepted for clothing anymore, and of course not for cars.
We cannot change what we have bought in the past, but with more information and compassion we can change how we decide in the future.
